If doing things quietly is how Moshiri wants to go then don't take the Mayor to the two sites with photographers in tow. That's what's led to the conjecture most I think. The expectation must be building up and up in the blue half of the city so now nothing but a massive uniquely designed stadium on the docks will do. A moderate bowl design in time for the CG and the blues will be marching on the Town Hall <laugh>

I don't know the date that the bids have to be in by - I'm not sure that would be made public. I know Birmingham said very recently they were also putting a bid in so it could be any time soon. The fact Joe accompanied Moshiri to the proposed sites could raise suspicions I suppose that some kind of deal could be being mooted. Why would the Mayor be involved in what is essentially a private land deal?

Koeman is an hypocrite, leaving Southampton he said "Everton is a big club" (bigger than Southampton). Now he wants Lukaku to
go to a big club to realise his ambition. What a double standard?.

A private deal for the land maybe, but when you have a partner for what's being built?

    Look at finch farm

One thing hung for sure, if joe makes a bid for CG them everton will be his partner.

The stadium will have a build to meet the immediate needs of Everton but allow a swift end of season conversion to the main stadium. Then the temporary seating being replaced the following summer with long term seating/maybe even a pitch that raises and lowers?

    Who knows,

Do you mean the stadium will be part private, part public financed? It would also require a running track which would push the seating further away surely. I don't know .... but seeing the Mayor hugging Moshiri means something's afoot <whistle>

I would assume it would be built as a football stadium, with a row of removable seats/temporary seating.

look at how a raised track was fitted in Hampden for Glasgow CG.

The guy looking into the design has already designed dual use baseball/american football stadiums.

I think it will be a dual bid, if no a hit the Everton go alone and planning permission is nice and smooth for Helping out Joe

If there really is a deal being proposed to build with a view to hosting the CG then it could happen like you've suggested. I was thinking about how they converted the City of Manchester Stadium after the CG but of course the games were hosted first and the track removed later and replaced with seating. Your new stadium would be used the other way round with football being it's prime use and then conversion.

The leading Meis architect for your project is a woman I believe, Xan Young, who also took the lead on the Roma stadium - ultra modern with a nod to it's location.

I posted this earlier in the thread [the design for Portsmouth's stadium that was never built] - but it's worth another look as it fits so well in it's waterside location and I could see something like this fitting well on our waterfront -

Looks nice. But where would the Gosport ferry birth?

I would love something like that, but to keep a more traditional four stand design would be brilliant......but not an option if a CG is held in it

Been to the Aviva jb, it is a nice stadium but behind the goals look odd because of the low part of roof, there are only a few rows of seats compared to both sides of the stadium, nice design but needed to be higher to compensate for the two ends.

All they need is a new ferry stop at the dock, then their many thousands of fans from the Wirral and beyond can leave their cars nearer home and enjoy a boat ride to the game.

Win win for the fans but the Mersey Tunnels will lose out big time.:emoticon-0105-wink:

Talking about the Tunnels and tolls, I'm not too impressed with the new Runcorn bridge having a toll when it's built - no way to get over the water for free any more <grr>

Anyone watch the Premier league show on BBC2 last night?

Koeman came across very well imo.

His goal scoring record for a defender is insane!
