My old man used to have an Austin Princess when I was growing up. At the time it was a 'luxury saloon' but by today's standards it's a dog.

Even they are going for silly money these days.

Tbh I'm not sure what it is other than a mk 1 Escort. It's a bright light blue with all the rally extras on.

He's happy with it and loves his cars, his 2 young boys love it too. Unsure exactly how much he'll make but it'll be worth a mint in a few years time. It's literally like brand new.

    Amazing motor.

Brilliant car, can be a normal family runabout in economy mode, but put it into race mode and gun it, and the handling is as good as anything I've ever driven.

The 4 wheel drive means there's very little that can live with it on 'A' roads.

The only drawback is that it attracts bell ends that think they can take it in their 1.2 Clio or Corsa. <doh>

I get about 24 mpg (mini) if I drive like I stole it, but it puts any other front wheel drive car to shame.

Dont start me on Corsa's or 320D BMWs <laugh>

I had a 320d estate. Great car. I had it remapped to 216bhp and still got 50-55mpg. It had over 300,000 on he clock when I sold it and it's still going strong today.

The car itself is fine, just the stupid reps who think they are gods gift to racing car drivers

Have thought about getting my 330d remapped it's already 247bhp. It's pretty rapid and very torquey.

I recently bought this classic in an auction, just had to have it, reminded so much of my youth, as smooth a ride as I remember.

Fastest car I've driven was, believe it or not, an Astra Turbo Coupe. That ****er was fast, but nimble. Beautiful drive tbh, you could navgiate the trickiest ****ing traffic in that bastard at speed no problem. That was 15 years ago before I decided cruising in a Merc was the thing for me.

I don't think I can class any car as my favourite... The best I had in my youth was a Peugeot 205 GTE. That was a great car, but it wasn't mine. Basically had it during my University year when I was working at a Pizza place and because I was on lates, I would get to keep the car overnight. Had some serious ganja sessions after we closed up tbh. I remember there was a lad with us who also worked part-time whose mother had named him Adolph... and he was black <laugh>

Mercedes C220 (company car), for this high flying executive <laugh>
My only issue with it, is it looks like it was designed under exam conditions. They spent so long on the design at the front, they run out of time at the back. I'm sure the design for the back comes from some mail order catalogue!!

    Good thread.

I've got a Citreon DS3, 1.2, petrol. 100 miles out of a tenner on a sensible run. £30 road tax a year. Got it on lease paying £100 a month for 3 years. I've matured into accepting lease deals because I drive alot and I prefer the luxury of drive nowadays as opposed back in the day when it would have to be an Audi A6 or Vauxhall Vectra sized car....solid cars but guzzlers and the problems age brings. Had both of them in the past, but for once fancied a ride that was brand new just for the quality of drive and no hassle of wear and tare, bullshit like road recovery all thrown in... Been a dream to drive. Its in metallic deep purple, looks cool.

I still have my Mk2 Focus ST, really need to look at changing it, had it a long time now

My previous cars have been a 1.6 Focus, Peugeot 206 and a Toyota Carina that had done close to 200k miles so I'd have to say this one has been the best...
