Very apt to your own plight on this board. Get with the program, understand nobody gives a **** about you, Ireland or McClean. <doh>

Didn't Poyet say that once or did I imagine that?

It was a double stupid comment, he said if he was manager of Real Madrid he'd still sign him. <laugh>

I know, it was a very special comment, one he'll always look back on and cringe <laugh>

Aye well we've all made a few of those, fortunately our every word isn't published for all to see!

I always liked Poyet, considering that he supposedly got sacked by Brighton for ****ting on the dressing room floor or some such weirdness he was always very dignified.

Just been looking at what he's been up to and he was sacked by Betis yesterday I believe, he goes from one sacking to the next. If he brushes up on his English he could be a good pundit.

It was the Brighton kit man who did that. It was later(much later) confirmed by some brighton players.

Poyet will always struggle. He's an idealist not a tactician. He's incapable of taking a group of players and playing them in a style that suits them, he expects incapable players to play a way they're simply not good enough to play. As much as I love his philosophy, he's not where near a good enough manager to inherit a squad capable of how he wants to play. I think his best chance would be the national squad but Uruguay tend to always have a decent pool of players and doubt they'd take a chance on him.

Ah was it, I always thought it seemed unlikely to have been Poyet although I did enjoy the image of him straining to crimp one out before he got caught.

I think you're dead right about him as a manager, maybe he should go for a number two (haha) role somewhere under an experienced manager or I fear he'll go nowhere.

Tell you what though, he had us pressing high up the pitch, the defence was never dragged so deep and put under the constant pressure it's been put under by Big Sam and Moyes. So he had his uses. It just killed us dead in the final 3rd. Not saying it's Big Sam's and Moyes fault. As soon as big Vic has become fit he's shown what's needed, big CF. We need to invest in one in Jan. Vic not known for consistency. Poyet's style we would have to have spent like Man City to get him the team he needed ofcourse. lol

I'd take Ulloa, more consistent than Vic is. I'd like better of course but he's been a thorn in our side a few times. Seen him play well many times

During yesterdays Service at The Cenotaph there came a section where The Representative from Ireland laid a wreath.
The commentator told us it was for the over 200,000 Irishmen who served in the British Army (others were with ANZAC Forces) in WW1.

Close to a quarter of these were killed.

Those who attended services, stood in silence and wore a poppy, were paying a silent tribute to these Irishmen along with all the other victims of War.

I'm quite happy to stack this stance against that of Mr McLean.

Many Irish fought and died. We should be thankfull to them all for their sacrifices.

Which only proves that all Irish are not Knobs and Bigots like our previous player McLean, who let's not forget it was us who gave him his big break and the poppy issue is how he threw it all back in our faces and his frequent media whinges about how poorly he was treated by us fans, like said previously he is a Knob, end of.

He's been gone for years. Unless people like the op mention him, i can honestly say i dont give him a second thought. A mediocre bitter ex player.

See that's were you get it all wrong,he's from Derry and hence has reason but you couldn't be bothered to check reason why,he has more balls to turn up every week and get abused, whether he's right or wrong that's not for me to decide.Niall Quinn wore a poppy on Saturday covering the Irish match, did he want to who knows but didn't want to rock the boat and understandably and before you all attack me I was genuinely moved yesterday with this presentation

It See this lad? He's everything McClean wishes he could have been. They're both as direct as you can get but our Dunc is far superior in every department. We could have 5 McCleans and it wouldn't equate to 1 Watmore. The lad is still developing too.
