That's the problem, it doesn't mean it can't be fixed. My point is that the club are aware of it and pitching stuff to try and fix it, even if the ideas suck balls, at least they're making a go of it. There's not much from the fans side to get things going.

    We should get a drum.

Actually a whole ****ing drum band.

Because some of you lot seem to enjoy banging on the same one all the time.

The quietness of our fans is no different to any other ground in England.

Its the times we live in.

As I said on another thread, it's not the 80s, some of you need to move on and accept that.

Bigger grounds than ours, that have bigger capacities make no more noise than ours.

The irony of complaining about how its not the 80s, and how football cultures changed, is mind blowingly ****ing hilarious.

Do we have any songs that aren't sung by other sets of fans?

All the ones with Hull City & The Tigers.

I've not heard "Get into 'em, **** 'em up" at other grounds either.

But aren't those just standard songs that all clubs sing, just with our name put in instead? It's not like we have Fields of Athenry (which admittedly is sung by Hibs, Celtic and Liverpool), Sunshine on Leith, Delilah, When the Saints go marching in or anything like that?

A song that's exclusively ours would be amazing.

We have plenty. They just aren't super lame hymns like those you've listed. Ours are generally short, witty things.

The solution as tubbylard said, is to allow unreserved tickets, standing and encourage fans to make an atmosphere. Help singers to congregate. All they need to do is facilitate and encourage. It can't be manufactured. Problem is, taking steps like allowing unreserved ticketing or standing are too awkward for clubs so they'd much rather pay some marketing twat to 'think outside of the box' which of course means get a drum, cheerleaders, etc etc

We don't, though. The witty responses are to stuff that's chanted at us. A song that gives us identity would get more fans comfortable singing it.

We definitely do have plenty of unique songs that no other club sings. However I think you're talking about 5-minute anthems where the lyrics mean absolutely nothing but the club has always sung it, like Delilah, You'll Never Walk Alone, or Blowing Bubbles. We don't have one of those and don't need one. Trying to think of one now would again be artificial. I'd much rather just sing daft stuff about Rosenior's Nana being from Hull. All the best fun in football crowds is had with spontaneity and wit. Our right side/left side thing is unique as far as I'm aware and was first aired at Watford years ago when there was for some reassurance big divide between the two halves of City's end, and the joke was that the home crowd were so quiet that we'd sing to ourselves. No one else sings the no silverware song either.

The silverware one and the city of culture one are ours, that's fair enough. The left/right side thing is done by a fair few, Leicester do it as well.

We don't need an anthem, but we need something that gets fans who are maybe too nervous to start singing going. The city of culture one is great, maybe when we're actually in 2017 it might gain momentum.

When I spoke to Garcia he said similar, that one of the big attractions of coming here was the size of the crowds.

The Keith chant was the only bit of fun at that appalling game.

The way to improve the atmosphere is to make it fun to support your team, rather than an endurance test.

Yep. It isn't bleedin rocket science. So what did the ****wit Allams do, after moving everyone around, supposedly to make the North Stand our 'kop'? Yep, give away fans part of it, then introduce a membership scheme making the North Stand the 2nd most expensive section, and with no concessions. Honestly, you could not make it up.

This North Stand idea would of course be only part of the solution, albeit a big part. Unfortunately we haven't united against the Allams in a fcuk you spirit; it's had the opposite effect with division and deserters (me included in the end). So that all needs repairing, and then to recapture the early spirit of the KC - it really shouldn't be difficult.

And Sterling is of course right, we need our own anthem; 112 years and no anthem is embarrassing. The best we can come out with is a 2 line 'silverware' ditty, or 'yellow submarine' which very few even know the words to. Stop the denial; it needs sorting.

The club really needs to get a plumber in to help build an atmosphere. Can't keep leaving it to PR, they don't have a ****ing clue what they're doing.

Your getting mauled by the Tigers is pretty unique to us although I haven't heard it for a while.

The problem of no atmosphere will not be solved by new owners, it may change it for a little while, but the whole issue needs a good looking at.

For those who hate the orchestrated chants, drummers and flag wavers, but want to see a better atmosphere, I am afraid you cannot go backwards. What worked when you went to watch City carrying a rattle and wearing a scarf that your Mam knitted, does not work now and will not work again. Would I want it at the KC, well anything needs to be looked at. For what it is worth, I think that having non stop adverts on the inner electronic boards is worse than any lyrics. My Southampton supporting Grandson thought that the lyrics were great.

As society has changed and people have become more insular, it will be harder to bring introduce supporter organised stuff. From experience, it really is like pulling teeth. The reality is that in the KC, it is hard to get anything going beyond the North Stand and it does get embarrassing at times. The one bloke who stood waving his flag in the South Stand would be looked at as if he is daft. We all want spontaneous singing and chanting, throughout the stadium.

There has to be a new movement from the supporters, something does need to be organised, but it should be us as supporters who will need to do it. The club will accept anything that is not protest based. But, I bet that there are plenty who post about the lack of atmosphere, who will not do anything about it.

Partly agree, especially the bits about times having changed. .
But to note, there was a 'new movement from the supporters'. It was the 'Ulltras'. For a short while, it seemed promising. However, the club (the Allams) managed to kill it off through their various stupid actions. In that respect, although I partially agree with "the problem of no atmosphere will not be solved by the new owners", future solutions / attempts will hopefully at least not be killed by them. I actually think new owners, or their officers at least, have a huge role in solving the no atmosphere problem (for the sort of reasons mentioned already in posts above).
