Even as a mod on a team board, you're damned if you do and damned if you don't and you get accused of taking sides. On our board, unless something is causing major problems, then I think it's best for the mods to take a back seat. I've always PM'd people when there's been a problem and I'm as nice as ****ing pie to them. 99% of the time it works, but there's always the 1% who are just there to **** things up.
Personally, I came to this forum after BBC 606 folded precisely because this place didn't have those restrictions. I believe the old tag on the icon was 'comment, create, debate,
freely !' and that's what it should be here. I'm not advocating a free rein for racism etc. But I think some people mistake this place for having the rules and regs that the BBC site had and then get upset when somebody calls them a ****. If you want somewhere that operates like the BBC then it's probably best to join another forum.
Basically, if you're easily offended, then **** off
