Can't argue with that, A Boy in the Bush's evil twin. Can't argue with what he's said this time though
How they can ban one of our greatest ever players, an actual fan of the club, who was such a big part in our only ever cup win, is beyond me.
You know what they say about the truth what did these two clowns expect we need money to bolster the defence not loan players who dont give a s**t whether we stay up or not.
Despite what you may think of Marsh, he's spot on. Brixton hit the nail on the head the other day when he said the football fans support their clubs with blind faith. I've been saying all along that we are going to struggle big time. We've made some decent signings at the top end, but defensively, we look fragile to say the least. No doubt I'll be accused of being a moaner & groaner yet again, but hey, who cares!
marsh is a qpr legend so we have to heed what he says, well said rodney your words are smack on the button
thank you, feeling frustrated as I am still worried about FB saying his dream is to have Lippi as manager, hopefully he will be dreaming about something else!
I am here still ... Rodney Marsh can also be wrong as well as right ... he is suffering from the same doom and gloom infection plus he is a well known negative football pundit
Marsh has always been a bit different both on and off the park. When it's favoured the club he's an icon, when it hasn't, he's an outcast. This, in the context that as a top flight player he chose to come to third tier Rangers when there were much sturdier options - and stayed with us for more than three years winning two promotions and a cup. A little known fact is that during more than two years of his spell at Rangers, Rodney spend regular weekly time on the teaching staff at Cardinal Hinsley School in Harlesden. Not many icons did or have done this with quite the same levels of commitment before or since. However, he didn't get the nickname, 'clown prince' for nothing... and he got that whilst playing for us in his mid 20s! That said, he's now been banned from LR for speaking up for us and telling it like it is... Revisionism, stern conditioning of the masses, gagging and banning orders and the like are all the stuff of 20th century tyrannical dictatorships... Like his F1 cohort, Max Moseley, Ecclestone has been associated with Nazism in the past; unlike Moseley he has also rather stupidly professed an affinity with Hitler's methods. I add this aspect into the mix, not simply as an acknowledgement of the status quo that Rodnee is criticising, but also as a balance against earlier assertions questioning Rodney's marbles. The fact is Rodney's harmless but knows he's a bit dodgy. Ecclestone, Briatore and Paladini on the other hand are malignant and never seen to accept criticism from anyone, least of all the Rangers Massive. Nice to know you're still there for us Rs 40 odd years later mate... with yet another goal against the run of play... ROD-NEEE !!!!
Well said Brixton! It was Marsh that got me hooked on the R's all those years ago. He has always had a love of QPR, shame the current incumbents don't share it!
FFs there was me feeling all happy a few days ago and really thinking we have a chance of staying up this year and now i read all the comments on here and feel all depressed again Anyway for what its worth i STILL believe we will stay up this year....just hope im not proved wrong next May. And from what ive seen of Rodders he aint the nicest of blokes....just my opinion on first impressions 'cos he seemed well and truly stuck up his own backside
For me this was unfortunately another badly timed reality check. I have used the last three weeks extracting every positive little from the going ons. I even made myself believe that Gabbidon (a player i never rated before) was a good and shrewd signing! L'pools Kyrgiakos, a player i laugh at when i watch, would walk straight into our defence. All this just so that i could approach the first game with some hope and anticipation. I know our defence will, more likely than not, struggle. I know the step up in quality is big. I even tried to give the goons some credit for getting us promoted, but that as well is a big fat lie, without the Mittals involvement and Bhatia persuading NW to come we would still be a Championship club at best. But i won't give them the pleasure, i'm gonna bloddy enjoy this ride, even if it's just for one year. YOU R's! And banning Rodney is just another nail in their coffin, just goes to show how far away from reality they are.
Norway, I guess that's the right way of approaching the season, enjoy the ride & see where it ends up. Lets face it, there's nothing we can do to influence what happens!
in reply to ↑ @RodneyMarsh10 Rodney Marsh @QPRnot606 @qpr1st best thing is for fans to get behind the team! I've not been officially notified. Just heard from a reliable R's source
Clarifications As I've said before, we're not all cut from the same cloth. Not606ers clearly comprise different types of R's fans, two of which include those with an interest in all departments of the club; and those who's main interest is in supporting the team and what goes on on the pitch. The latter group seem to feel that the former group are party poopers. All doom and gloom and spoiling their excitement in the run up to the new season in the prem. If that is the case, why read let alone respond to threads like this that relate to ownership issues, IF it's likely to spoil your enjoyment? I don't understand this mentality at all. There are plenty of threads on here relating to players and games. There's even fantasy football and stuff about computer football 3000 or whatever, that personally bores the pants off me and which I avoid like the plague - but it's all there for those looking for that Melchester Rovers kind of buzz. Personally, I'm tiring of us clubites having to justify our existence to the teamites. We do love Rangers. We ALWAYS want us to win. We do enjoy the football, the new season, the new kit (well... ), every goal we score etc.. But we do so on our own terms and without wanting to spoil things for others. At the end of the day, we're ALL Rs and we'll ALL be here or hereabouts till our personal suns set. Neil Warnock says it in most interviews. Whatever's going on we joost need to ENJOY IT - and believe me, we are!!
Just because Marsh was a legend on the pitch doesn't make him a good pundit. I was pleased when he got kicked off Soccer Saturday because, in my opinion, he was too busy talking about himself to actual give a decent report on the match he was watching. However, in this case he seems pretty much spot on. The only point I would completely disagree on is him thinking that Warnock would walk. At no point did I think that, why would he. He has openly stated that he want another crack at the Premier League. I'm sure the money is less important to him, but also if he quit he wouldn't get his contract paid. Perhaps he has now turned the corner as a pundit. I do hope so. I think a few choruses of "Rodney, Rodney" wouldn't go amiss on Saturday.
Very few pundits are good pundits... Excellent last sentence there Roller. Would be great if it happened!
Well, we can all make it happen. In fact we could even organise it. If people are up for it we could pre-arrange a chorus at say 2:50, or during half time. I do tend to attempt to over-organise things. What do others think?
As much as i love Rodders (i spent my formative years watching him fall over) you have to remember he also played a part in our downfall to the lower leagues, it was his prospective director of football job that led to Gerry Francis resigning and us being left with a succession of no hope managers and religation to the lower leagues. On this occasion he happens to have a point and Tango & Cash banning him wont go down well with fans from an older generation.
