It's the equivalent of two world superbike racers arguing over who's best and one of them using logic of "My great, great, great grandpa once rode from Preston to Stoke on a penny farthing so I'm best".

Fredor - you love your discipline don't you? Sunderland are a bastion of fair play aren't they? I can see why they slashed out so much on Cattermoles replacement, the needed someone with similar characteristics

Such as taking peoples ears off through pure filth

I remember being as horrified when his name was mentioned in connection with Newcastle as I had been for Kinnear and Pardoo.
Thank God we got a better coach/manager than we actually expected.
I actually felt sorry for the makems. And he's been even worse (with **** players TBF) than even I expected

You seem to have missed some statistics

SUNDERLAND Winners of the TOP division in English Football 6 ( SIX ) times
SUNDERLAND runners up at the same level 5 ( FIVE ) times

Newcastle in the last seven meetings between the two clubs have managed to win, 0 , none, zilch, never , it is at the stage now that after watching a game between the two I am left with a feeling that Sunderland have not really achieved much

We can only hope that your owner continues to shell out a few hundred more millions the we may at least see a competitive game

In the meantime continue to keep us informed of how much easier it is to gain a result in the lower division

Yay Fredor's back! I've really missed the regular dose of the world's worst statistics and pompous superiority!

Anyway, oh where to start with the horseshit above...

Firstly I hadn't missed any statistics, I was quoting your post about your "impressive list of league titles" and proving your list of relegations is larger and more impressive. I'm not missing any statistics, however you have chosen to add in a completely irrelevant and unrelated statistic about the amount of times you finished runner up, you are aware you don't win the league title if you finish runner up? The last time you won the league was in 1936 (before the 1913) and the last time you finished runner up was 1935; remember these glory days from 80+ years ago like they were yesterday do you?

We then go hurtling forward from the 1930s to the present day, with a gloat about being unbeaten in 7 against us, yes it used to be "6 wins in a row", now unfortunately you can only flog the rather less impressive "unbeaten in 7" horse. You aware that before you beat us in 2013, that you had won 1 of the previous 16 against us? And that in the all time record we are ahead of you - Newcastle won 53, 49 draws, Sunderland won 51....given you fascination of records 100 years old or more, I thought this would be of particular interest to you.

And finally the good ole "lower division" quip, ah yes. Well I wouldn't say it was easy to get a result, just having put together an excellent team, we're doing very well, I'm not sure if the shower of **** masquerading as a team for Sunderland would find it easy in this division...however we'll find out next season!

I thank you for your reply, but a bit disappointed you could not give me some idea as to when you would be able to field a team that would offer some decent opposition, I find that more or less knowing the result before the game is played takes a lot from my enjoyment of it

Only in Newcastle is unbeaten in seven less impressive than unbeaten in six !!!!!!

As for when these wins were obtained, it is obvious to suit your argument we cannot use from the beginning, and as I have pointed out we cannot use recent results, could you point out to me the dates you would like to include from perhaps a bit in the middle somewhere and we will discount the rest

Yep phase 2, now the **** statistics from phase 1 have let you down, now we get the pompous aloof superiority; it's like a **** MP trying to dodge a direct question....Jeremy Clarkson would give the a right bashing!

Knowing the result before the game takes the enjoyment out of it? I guess knowing Sunderland are going to lose every week takes the enjoyment out then....although you'd obviously struggle to find much enjoyment their in the first place. "Field a team that would offer some decent opposition"? Are we supposed to field teams weaker than we are currently doing then, cos we're winning too often and taking away the enjoyment from football being a good old unpredictable game?

As for verbal diarrhoea in your last paragraph, I'm not even going to attempt to decipher that, please just keep trying to cite the facts that you won the title 100 years ago and haven't lost to us recently and attempt to make out this compensates for the likelihood of us swapping divisions with each other at the end of the season.

I think it's less case of making it compensate, and more a case that once you reach a certain age, the prospect of what happens next season becomes less and less likely to affect you!

Yes, I can just imagine Fredor in a singles disco for the over 70s, smoking a cigar and having a brandy, at a table surrounded by his old lads, discussing hip replacements and reflecting back on the 1930s, ready for the inevitable, but consoling themselves that at least they're likely to depart this life at a time when Sunderland are in the higher division than Newcastle!
