Both have their merits, both very different. Tears for Fears were a couple of ****s who were always arguing.

Picked up a BOSE Soundtouch 30 yesterday at Luton airport for France ... blown away with it highly recommend this bit of kit. I did have a couple of B&O speakers rigged up through a old amp and a AUX lead ... not even close to the sound of this BOSE thing. £400 quid but worth every penny and sure you could get it cheaper. Mate in Brighton purchased a Marrantz system and done a bag of sand on just the speakers ... this is as good IMO

    What you people using?

Music is everything IMO ... lifts the soul

I've a 10 year old Denon Micro system, the speakers and sound are exceptional for such a 'small' piece of kit...

I've got a 90min to 2 hour drive every day.
So I've rigged up the old car with a system from JL Audio, banging Amp and Sub, they'll blow your ears off they're so f'ing loud. I drive an older Qashqai.
But I've gone off music a bit lately TBH.
I think music lies to you because it keeps you feeling the nostalgia perpetually and that is not a good thing, it removes you from the reality of the moment.
Especially if you keep listening to old music from your childhood or whatever and not listen to what's current.
I think the ease by which we can re-play music and re-watch old films and video keeps our minds stuck and locked up in the old places too much. Or may be it's old age setting in and I've started to become the cranky sod that I've dreaded becoming <laugh>
So I prefer to just listen to the radio quietly in the background and not put too much mind to it, it makes me feel like I am right here, right now, rather than dreaming about feelings or memories of the past. I have no idea who or what artists anybody is playing on the radio, I don't pay attention to any names or personages or lyrics it's just background blur.
Only now and then and very rarely do I crank up the car and jam to the old stuff really loud and imagine the days of stage-diving! :emoticon-0102-bigsm
Otherwise I just use my headphones and listen to quiet tunes to zone out and meditate

Leon Russell who passed away today was a singer/songwriter probably best known for his part in George Harrison's Concert for Bangladesh in the early 70s...
