Hang on a minute, didn't Trump say he wanted nothing to do with the U.K. after brexit was done and dusted? Now that's what I respect in a politician, the ability to conveniently forget all the promises made during the campaign.

Trump knows that he can't do this on his own and will need some politically savvy advisors. And let's not forget he's not a politician and never pretended to be.

Mr Trump has business interests in the UK. He appears on face value to be an open supporter of Brexit - Farage appeared on stage with Mr Trump at a rally.
UK Government couldn't look towards protectionism, but the EU itself has done and it's been one of it's biggest criticisms. Though in the case of a nation rather than a continent it makes more sense one could argue. And I'm maligning millions of people not because the vote didn't go 'my way' so to speak. If all of my political beliefs were subsequently represented in elections/referendums, etc I'd still stand by what I said about the average person not having a very good idea about what they're voting for/against. I'm by no means an expert, but I like to think that I have some sort of idea what's going on between both sides.
I should add that I've been querying rather than challenging here, as you're clearly more clued up on this than I am.

I'm fully aware that I could be coming across as arrogant as fack but it's not in any way to big up my knowledge or anything like that. I'm speaking largely from experience and a lot of my friends who have no interest in politics, know nothing about it, and yet still vote, and I genuinely think it's the majority of nation that do it this way. Does anyone here actually disagree? Most people don't give a damn but will vote for whoever their family are / whoever the tabloids tell them to.

Sadly, I think you're spot on. A recent report on the (strictly impartial, not!) BBC went back to Barnsley to catch up with people post the Brexit vote 6 months on.
And none of those interviewed who had voted to Leave had a clue as to why they'd done so, other than the word 'immigration' being repeated ad nauseum.
Mind you, it looked as though most of them hadn't got a clue full stop......
And the trouble is that this was replicated nationwide to varying degrees.
There is a campaign that drags on a bit to actually "confuse" voters ... [everyone responds to a keyword ..a phrase or an action....] before they are asked to vote...
immigration ... without just bounds is ...is one word to some the major or first importance
they may simply just settle on this
I made my decision after the countryfile programmes on agriculture .. but also did a bit of research into where the milk we drink comes from .. and it is not all from the UK! Also I believe we are, the EU so INDIRECTLY US ... paying some farmers in "eastern Europe" ? to produce milk! remember the wine lakes and butter mountains! the butter mountain was eventually distributed to people in the then EU ! no subsidies after brexit ! we had them before we joined so why not after, after all it is not that we don't want to budget for £say after the exit just distribute it, all of it for our own plans projects and help
I also had immigration on my list ... but only those non deserving which is about 90% in my eyes. You have to look at loads of different angles on this from illegal { immigrant} spongers to illegal { immigrant] criminals to those working "cash in hand" etc
there was nothing in the remain camp to unsettle these issues or give a viable reason I should not believe in them .. they simply replied in respect agriculture the farmers will be doomed

I am not a billionaire but could be classed being worth half a million when I popit! .. and I do, and have done my little bit in my lifetime .. not as dramatic as dispatching an aero plane , but certainly taking a down and out into 2 shops one to buy underwear the other a charity shop to buy 2 or 3 sets of clothes and a suit case then to a local sports centre where he washed and shaved, I bought the kit also, then I gave him a job, he had accommodation in our works for 3 weeks ( agreed time), and had to get himself a flat and or sorted with different work as he now had a fixed address to "call home" took him 5 weeks
3 years later I met him and he said by way of thanks I named my 3 month old son after you!
Also aided the first Cornish air ambulance when they started fund raising, 50 years ago! ..assisted with PHAB ... raised money for different charities , that's not just saying here's 50p and that's my charitable donation for another year ..and just recently, ends soon, raised almost £1400 for action for children ....... would have been nice to have trebled the original target I set at £500 ...

I didn't vote as I ballsed up my postal vote before Glastonbury, but I would have voted leave too. The difference being that we had a somewhat educated and informed decision, even if I personally find myself asking lots of questions. My criticisms are to those are basically voting 'yeah but immigrants init'.
I'm not a Clinton fan at all, so that's half of your post gone. I don't like either, but Clinton is by far the best of the bad bunch. Clinton would have been a nightmare based on the fact that there would be basically no change, she has a very questionable past, and it's yet another family business. But at least these are fixable issues, rather than Trump who has numerous character flaws, and is a massive c*** in every way a man can be a c***.

The problem today is who do you believe? We all know that politicians tell porkies during the election campaign and sorting out the wheat from the chaff is almost impossible so voting generally goes along very similar lines. The millenial's votes apparently went strongly against Clinton because she was part of the recent establishment with strong ties back to previous regimes, including horny Bill, and basically in this digital age the social media buzz showed a major revolt against the status quo.
Immigration was a major factor in the vote (much as brexit) and it looks like the previous governments that fell in to the trap of believing the need to broaden their citizenship base would answer a lot of the internal issues, and were totally wrong, are now reaping the whirlwind of voter discontent. Whether we sit on our smug horse whimpering that we are not actually racially prejudiced or nimbies then I fear we do protest too much.
