I think that confirms what we all already know, the driver and fans have lost respect for the circus it has become. I thought Max made a very valid point on leaving the track.
I think Vettel will go well this weekend in the rain. He had a real edge about him in the press conference and think he may prove a point in the variable conditions. Red Bull should go well in slippery conditions. Merc may have a slightly more challenging weekend this time around, and how will Nico and Lewis deal with slippery conditions under the pressure?
Nico hasn't fared well in wet races, he will be praying it is dry as it may give Lewis a big edge over him. I don' buy the argument that Lewis can't handle the pressure anymore. In the cockpit I don't think it matters to him, out of the cockpit is where it tends to show. The pressure is more on Nico not to throw it away than it is for Lewis to claw back the points deficit. Lewis is aware it is effectively out of his hands regardless of whether he wins the last two races or not as Nico only needs to finish second.
err, haven't the results been finalised? Only precedent in the past for changing official results based on new information not available at the event was Lewis and 'Lie-gate' from Aus 2009. Think Ferrari should just shut up and get on with it. It's not like its going to make any difference to them winning a championship......... They'd be better off spending the time putting their own house in order without trying to do the FIA's too.
I agree, but I think this is a challenge to the rules and implementation in general? There is obviously discontent, and you have to have buy in from all competitors.
Ferrari should count themselves lucky that Seb avoided a disrepute charge, so do they really want to go back and open up the debate again?
It was all after the press conference, must be something Charlie said that Ferrari could challenge. It is not helping the image of Ferrari etc. If I was in some kind of position of authority I would want to put the Mexican GP and it's ugly incidents in the past.
It does look like desperation on Ferrari's part, maybe to deflect from the generally poor season they have had.
Looks like the RBR's fancy a piece of the action. Rosberg had to pull one out of the bag to get on the front row at Mexico, neither Merc driver will want those pesky kids meddling in their fight this weekend.
I think Nico will play it safe especially in mixed conditions, if that happens it will be decided in Abu Dhabi just how Bernie would want it.
What would be good viewing is if Lewis clawed back enough points in Brazil to get within at least 6 points so it became a winner takes all finale.
Strange practice sessions I thought. Bottas in 3rd for P2 session doesn't feel natural, and the times were slower than P1. Ferrari IMO are playing with set up anticipating a soaked race. Half of today's tyre data might wind up irrelevant having seen the forecast. The wetter the track gets, the more the Merc advantage diminishes as the Red Bull downforce in the wet on this track should be tailor made. Hoping this is very much the calm before the storm for a good race.
I disagree. I don't think they are protesting for the result just the farce it's become. Several on the record and off the record interviews in the pit lane agreeing with Ferrari's request. There is a general concensus that Charlie and co have list their way.
On a side note, Ron Dennis and some Chinese investors have offered £1.65bn to buy McLaren, had it rejected, and might be placed on gardening leave!
What a legend. He really has loosened up over the years compared to the Alonso of 2007. It says a lot for him to have gone back to McLaren and I hope he is rewarded with a car capable of winning again, but we will see.
I actually wouldn't mind Alonso taking that elusive 3rd WDC before he retires, best driver of this generation I've always said that. And it seems a great personality to go with it.
