Valencia 25 did that, oh yeah he has just been banned lol HAHAHA job done I think they all did well for first competetive games today, the odd mistake but who wouldnt a big game like that
I'm glad De Gea made those mistakes today and not in an important game, good to get it out of his system.
have to agree with that, although i saw some stats where he conceded the 2nd most out of the box range goals in la liga, but im sure united will sort that out, because everything else looks likes its already there!
OK the second goal was an awful mistake but most of the game he was OK, and he's just a youngster making his United debut. If anything he should learn from that mistake and do better the next time. Goalkeepers good enough to replace VDS don't exactly grow on trees so let's give him time.
How often are our central defenders going to allow the opposition that much space and time? Hopefully never again but it was a rarity. Also, we won't play with these Umbro balls again until the FA Cup starts for us in Jan? That could be a factor also. But apart from the 2nd goal, he looked really solid. He isn't the tallest keeper in the world but there was that one catch from a corner he took with impudent ease considering the big black blokes that City have. (No racism, it's just a fact).
Totally agree. However, Aguero and Lukaku are overrated and Adam, Downing and Henderson are all flops
He far from the smallest too, he's actually taller than keepers such as Reina, Howard and Hart, I think he's 6'4".
although wiki says he is 6'4 which is just simply untrue....obviously lol all stats i can find say he is 6'4 however joe hart just under, either hart wears huge studs or it is utter bullshit lol
He was around about the same height as Carrick who is around 6"3' I believe. It's not exactly small I admit, but considering that VDS was around 6"6' he does have a bit of a disadvantage. But you don't have to be hugely tall. I've got absolutely no problem with de Gea, still think he is the bee's knees.
Totally.... I'm a keeper and you need time to get to know your defence and how it works. I play at a very low and crappy level but only in my 30's did have I actually played at my best. Professionals say the same time and again don't they? Over the next few months (and years) he should increase/improve: 1> Confidence 2> Bulk 3> Decision making/Anticipation 4> His grasp of English 5> Most of all the will get experience He's just a kid yet he already shows glimpses of greatness! And remember than outfield a stray pass / Miss-kick / or poorely timed run rarely results in a goal. In the sticks 99% of errors mean a goal - You have to be perfect....
He supposed to be 1.92 metres tall. Schmeichel was about 1.93 metres tall. I won't worry. The lad needs to bulk up.
Did you not say 'Young is the next Messi'...? Don't worry guys i am sure that De Gea will be a great goal keeper. One thing that stood out was his ability to kick the ball (with pin-point precision) right up to your strikers. Quick fluid movement of the ball, similar in that sense to Reina
