Today's film , " the finest hours ", Absolutly ****ing Loved it, well worth a watch... A bit like a fireman, Is a lifeboatman, whilst everyone else runs away From a storm, they run to it.... And a true story To boot, brilliant.... At last, a decent ****ing film...
Just found a film on YouTube from 1996. With two of my all time favourite actors in it. Today's film is," a family thing " With the brilliant James earl Jones and Robert Duvall ......
Watching today's film early as its darts tonight. Today's film is, " hands of stone ", The story of Roberts Duran and his legendary Trainer Ray arcel
Absolutely love the scene when they come out of the bank and go up the road shooting, one of the best shooting scenes in film....
They're using real ammunition through that scene too.Val Kilmer's gunmanship and how he reloads under fire is genuinely shown to US special forces as a good example. It's definitely top 5 best shootouts in film, alongside (in my opinion) the Hospital scene in Hard Boiled, the finale of Taxi Driver and The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, and the main shootout in Django Unchained. EDIT: Oh, also, any of the shootouts in John Wick, in particular the club scene.
Surely, today of all days is the time to watch Network. It's on Netflix, watched it last week, prompted by the US election. It was just referenced on Newsnight. Peter Finch and William Holden, co-starring a luminous Faye Dunaway.
Peter finch was an outstanding actor, unfortunately a dying breed, an absolute master of his art. He was an English born Australian actor according to Wikipedia....
I'm going to see a street cat named Bob next week, really looking forward to it, God I hope it's good... I love music themed films," the commitments " etc.. Now that was a cracking movie...
Nowt beats This Is Spinal Tap for music themed films. (I'm assuming whole live performances as films don't count, because there's a couple of Bowie and Radiohead ones which are ace, as well as Stop Making Sense by Talking Heads) EDIT: Come to think of it, do the Beatles films count? Because nowt tops A Hard Day's Night if so.
I haven't seen that but just looked it up and it has good reviews, Will add it to my list. Thanks... Ps. Just watched a trailer, looks right up my street.... Think I'm gonna really like this film.....
