I can agree with you on that i am also happy just really apprehensive about the proverbial balloon. I am trying to enjoy it
that's not a real fixture but yes you scored goals. And i will give you that your final was indeed one of the CL greats. From my memories, your european games always consisted of staying solid and hitting on the counter. Our games against each other were the most boring games ever (obviously not helped by mourinho) and you can point to the number of goals you guys scored (we could do the same with mourinho) but you played a similar brand of footie to mourinho, stay solid and hit on the counter. Not very exciting but effective
Yeah, but you're a proper doomster at the best of times. It must have been painful to watch us for most of the last 20 years.
Because the thrill of seeing your team score a winning goal is something that can't be replicated looking at results (well i still get happy seeing a good result). Put it another way, have you ever come away from a match where liverpool have lost and thought to yourself, wow that's brilliant, most exciting match ever. More of the same next week please
Of course, he's brilliant, he's a nice bloke and he's playing attractive football and he's still new. Likewise, we are loving conte. That didn't mean i didn't enjoy the wins with Jose though. However if Klopp didn't win anything for 5 years and didn't get CL in any of his years, i would like to see if you stick to your tune
I know ... i don't mind liverpool so much anymore, big fan of coutinho and klopp but you should have seen my delight when we beat you that day though. My biggest wish was never seeing Stevey G lift a PL as he's probably my most hated player. I even had you 4 figures on you winning that day actually (stupidly enough) but was more than happy to have frittered that away to see the look on Suarez, Stevey and co (although i actually quite like suarez nowadays). Also Brenden doesn't deserve a title, he's a terrible manager
No. Let me be plain - there are three possibilities: 1. Play poorly and grind out a win. 2. Play well but still lose. 3. Play well and win. I'm only happy with one of those - guess which one. (Of course there's the 4th option of play poorly and lose but I omitted that because I'm not a masochist). Let me reiterate- I accept that on occasion you have to grind out a win. If we do I'm relieved, but I wouldn't say happy - and I wouldn't want to see it on a regular basis.
I've stuck to my tune for the last half century, I'm unlikely to change now. I've always been consistent - no sugar daddy, no obsession with star names, no excessively negative football. I want to see results through good football, it's not necessary to sacrifice this in order to win.
Ah but now that's a different argument. I wouldn't know of anyone who would choose to have their team grind a win out over playing attractive football and winning. Your initial argument was about people supporting a team who had a philosophy of not playing attractive football and winning in the sense that if your team is playing boring football and winning matches then that is not very entertaining. My points 1. Everyone probably agrees that attractive football is more entertaining. 2. Debatable but does a conservative football beat attractive football in terms of winning strategy - this is up for debate 3. Have i ever been entertained with my team when it's played brilliantly but lost - the answer is no, i get annoyed and frustrated. If every match was like you vs burnley i think i would probably not be a happy fan. You equated boring football + winning as not entertaining and you couldn't understand anyone who would go for that option. I think it's very understandable as most people would always take boring football + winning over entertaining football and not winning. That why rafa is still seen highly regarded (alongside all the work he did in the community and how he holds himself) even though he's football could in no way be compared with the attacking delights of klopp, pep or fergie.
That's a credo I buy into totally Don't you think that should be a semi-colon after 'football' and before 'it's' in the last line there?
Stevey Me is horrible and very self obsessed, that's why i'm allowed to be nasty to him . Likewise, i can understand why people are happy to see Jose lose (i'm sure you are one of those) because he doesn't seem like a very nice person (in football anyway)
I haven't changed my tune at all, perhaps you haven't followed it properly. Or perhaps I wasn't clear, which is way I distilled it to the post you've just quoted.
