Rare to agree with anything the people who run the premiership come up with, but I agree with this. I have always thought it was a bit ****ty to stick away supporters up in Level 7, even if it does mean more decent seats for home supporters
I am guessing they will go in he corner between the Leazes and East stand like in the European games.
I think this is right. Its really difficult to throw things up to Level 7. With gravity on our side there should be no such issue. Seriously though I agree 100% with this.
bollox to that this is my seat that's going to be taken, I haven't missed a home game since the Leazes was built and I've still got another season left on my 5 year deal I've been told that they are extending or making larger the disabled section
It could be worse though, they could try and move us corporates (takes another chomp on his prawn sarnie)
Yeah, cracking idea, unless of course you're one of the dispaced. Probably the Leazes, but, you never know it could be elsewhere. Should be the Gallowgate, as its so quiet these days.
Bollocks to the away fans, I'd rather keep them up in level 7 and have the decent seats for Newcastle fans. I'd be livid if I got moved.
Struggling to understand why any NUFC fans would be happy to see something like 4,000 fellow fans moved. Comes across as not giving a **** about your own....
Digressing....it appears that the Premier League are also going to discuss 'Safe Standing Areas' next week.
As I understand it, the reason why away fans were put in level 7 was due to logistics and policing what's changed ? it's going to cost the club a lot more with police and less capacity with sterile areas either side of the away fans then you have the logistics of getting away fans into and out of the ground with confrontation where as at the moment they have their own area to get in and out, it may of worked in the past when the ground capacity was less but to allow as many away fans in the lower section is only going to cause trouble absolute stupidity
I can see both sides but part of football has always been interaction between home and away support. We lost this when the stadium changed. It is cack for away fans currently and I'd like to see the balance redressed somewhat.
I'll let them know that my away seat isn't safe for random chavs to stand in cos they want a better view.
I don't think anyone is happy to see fellow fans being forced to move and are just agreeing with the principle of the idea especially bearing in mind we will benefit from it away. In any case the rule appears to have been agreed by the PL clubs so there isn't going to be any choice in the matter
The way NUFC have made it work as you say makes sense however this new idea is not one made by NUFC but a rule made by the PL so NUFC will have no choice but to find a way to make it work and some fans sadly will suffer however it is done
Thing is lads.. every away ground I go to is empty as **** so I get mint seats. We effectively do THEM a favour as we sell out. When they then bring piss poor numbers Back to ours.. i'm sorry but they should sit where the **** they are put.
