http://www.esquire.co.uk/culture/ne...out-donald-trump-and-it-hasnt-gone-down-well/ Saw the headline about Jagger making a joke about American election and it hadn't gone down well. He merely suggested that he could sing 'You don't always get what you want' at the inauguration....this was after Trump used it in his election campaign. The response is quite frankly ludicrous to an obvious joke. Obviously a joke to everyone...apart from those who put the twit into twitter.
The man wrote his own epitaph. I wondered when I first heard it, if he knew his time was short. RIP - Leonard Cohen. You were magnificent and have seen me through many sad days ...............
Interesting thing I noticed on Youtube. I have a channel there and occasionally I upload off-air recordings of old BBC radio dramas and readings that I've collected over the last 40 years. About 6 weeks ago I uploaded a book, in separate 10 parts. I used one of the editions of the real book's cover as a thumbnail. It got around 65+ odd viewings for the first part, but thereafter it fell away to just a couple by part 10. Bear in mind, this is an American classic, so should get some viewings. So I decided to conduct a little experiment. I deleted the book in 10 parts and replaced it with the same book, same reader, but in an omnibus form [I just edited the parts together], but I put a much more dramatic cover on it, from another edition of the book, for the thumbnail. Just a few days have gone by and already there are over 4 times the amount of viewings than were had for the original part 1. Looks like people do judge a book by its cover.
You have to attract the right readers to the book or they will fall away. Perhaps the more striking cover meant the right readers were introduced to the book....and therefore were more likely to read further. Only a thought.
Yep, you're probably right. I honestly thought the first cover was a good one. The second one isn't anywhere near as nice, but it has way more impact on the eye. I'll file that thought away for the next time.
