https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ter-united-luke-shaw-jose-mourinho-criticisms Shaw calls Mourinho a **** #lostthedressingroom
its an old timey printing press type plate where the letters are assembled and chocked in there ready for print. looks older than a Heidelberg
I see. Its not about Moureens ****ty tactics or his bad buys that is the problem its the poor atmosphere and bad attitude at the training ground...
I think i have mentioned this before but i have a friend who has worked at Carrington for many many years. We have always had a really good laugh to be honest about football. She is a lifelong utd fan, she was the one who told me that SAF wanted Giggs as next boss but because of his health he didn't get the time he needed to prepare him. Anyway saw her for the first time in 6 months on Sat just gone and as usual we were having a bit of banter over the football, but she basically said what Rorschach is referencing that the atmosphere down at Carrington is unbearable, obviously she wasnt happy over past few years but she used very strong words to describe certain staff members. The word psychotic was used to describe someone quite important, which really shocked me as she has never been that strong before. I thought that was really telling, my admiration for Jose is not something i have hidden but i was very surprised to hear her talking like this. If half of what she was saying is true there is one hell of a job down there to turn everything around. So whilst his tactics have not been the best there maybe more to this toxic atmosphere talk than meets the eye. One thing is certain imho - that squad has the ability to challenge for the title (and like phil and zlatan i still think they will) so somthing is stopping them atm.
For me I don't understand how people can claim that Utd don't have the ability to challenge, that squad is clearly capable hence the criticism of mourinho. I expect them to improve (surely they must) but not sure I share your confidence that they will improve enough to challenge. their next game against arsenal will be telling.
Technically any squad with 11 or more players can challenge for the title. Anyone currently taking the title challenge of a team without a single win against a top 9 side seriously is just blinded by history.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37930776 Mourinho unhappy with the medical department http://www.thetimes.co.uk/edition/sport/mourinho-orders-united-injury-probe-jkqgb5zgq Apparently the doctors are all "sons of bitches" Mourinho added: "For the team, you have to do anything. Except post-match interviews."
I think i am just used to them always spoiling the party Jose is also brilliant at spoiling the party. Call his game boring, but there is nothing wrong with taking care of your defence just like there is nothing wrong with the long ball. It goes back to the debate that has been on here so many times, winning vs style of football. Cause i missed the glory period i just want to see us win If that means 11 behind the ball then so be it. There is only 8 points in it so whilst form and current issues would suggest they are out of it it is waaaay to early to say for definite. Equally to say we are in it is too early. The Southampton game is an indicator of where we are, but too many times have i seen us have a blip which results in our demise from nearly all comps so i just protecting my heart I hope to be proved wrong...
Having watched us since the mid 60's I really have to disagree. Sometimes you have to win ugly, the odd game here and there, but if we made a philosophy of it I'd be extremely pissed off. I sometimes wonder whether people who have the win-at-all-costs attitude are more concerned with bragging rights over their mates than the entertainment value of watching good football (I'm not accusing you of this, btw, just saying I think it applies to quite a few). It doesn't have to be either or anyway, this is a false dichotomy. In Klopp, we have a manager who I think can play football the right way and get results. I'm so happy we've never gone for Mourinho in the past. I don't think I could stand the way he runs things, the style of play, or the baggage he brings with him.
Were you happy when you fluked your way to the CL 2005 playing the most boring football ever in the knockouts (rafa made you guys really strong defensively)? If so then i think you're argument is flawed . Yes we would all love to do it playing football like real madrid but if you gave me a choice of **** football and winning or good football and not winning, then i will take the former all day long. Hopefully conte can give us both and in klopp you have someone who is playing attractive football. Likewise i won't forget the trophies mourinho won. What attractive football gives you over boring football is that you keep the crowd onside when you're not winning. Never watched them myself, but didn't the great liverpool win trophies back in the day just passing it back to the keeper who could pick it up?
Sometimes you post stuff that is fairly sensible. this is not one of those times. PS 6-2 on aggregate V Bayer leverkusen, I was bored to tears watching that.
It not the bragging rights as such - although clearly that effects nearly all of us ( read the forum ) But the idea of sport is to win, imho, the British mentality has always been skewed, we believe it is not whether we win or lose but how we play the game. Whilst i can agree that entertaining the supporters should be a factor it is and should not be the goal, the goal should always be to win. Someone pointed out our CL win, which tbh was probably a bad example, yes we parked the bus in some games but there were many games including the final which was arguably one of the most entertaing/dramatic of all. (I am not saying the most). Surely that is what you have to do, play entertaining when you can but when faced with insurmountable odds you dig in to win. Like Chelsea against Barca, i thought the defence they showed that night was breathtaking and appreciated it, and they deservedly won. I for one have no beef with that. Where Klopp is concerned, yes at the minute we are entertaing but what would you rather when we next play Chelsea, grind out a hard fought boring 1-0 victory or lose 8-7. For me it is the winning that comes first. That is sport. ( i realise you answered that already btw ) Sometimes managers have to make it their philosophy as they have no other option. It is definitely a matter of opinion. I am certain it would not stop me wanting LFC to win even if we played like that. If you want entertainment then watch wrestling, the moves they do are amazing and to be appreciated like gymnastics but the reason people dont see it as a sport is because it isnt, its entertainment ( i think they have called wresling entertainment now - WWE).
Wrestling is fake though. I don't just want entertainment alone - I want entertaining football (but you knew that's what I meant anyway). We're going to have to agree to disagree on this one. Bragging rights mean nothing to me 'cos I haven't got any mates. Seriously, if all you care about is results, why even watch the game? Just wait for the results service. Of course we all want to watch the games and all want to enjoy what we see, I suppose it boils down to what constitutes enjoyment.
Understandable that you revere Mourinho, you never knew what it was like to win anything before he fetched up.
Cause tbh i enjoy defensive displays, i enjoy watching a team that has decided that in order to win they are going to perform In a certain manner. I want to see my team try to win, which is why i watch. I am just really flexible on how they do that. I used to love watching videos of Molby pinging long balls, i thought Beckham was amazing at long passing. But defending is a skill. Good defending is a fine art, the italians have won 5(?) world cups based on defending as opposed to the Brazilians who do it with flair. Germany win with a strong organised work ethic and the spanish recently perfected the tiki tak stuff. I just want the team i love to be the winners I guess i just appreciate the ugly side of football. Tbf i am the same in rugby, a scrum is a skill if we win a world cup pushing scrum repeatedly over the try line - i dont care cause the work that has gone into that will have been phenominal. In short i totally agree with your last sentence Here's to a season where we can both be happy
The reason I'm really happy with Klopp is that I think he's a man(ager) after my own heart. I like the way he goes about things. It remains to be seen whether or not he will be a success, but I'm happier with the set-up atm than I've been since the 80's.
