There was a quote I read earlier that seemed apt. It was along the lines of, politicians and the media should stop listening to each other, and start listening to the people.

the problem is that the media seem to listen to the morons tweeting and think that they must be right rather than realising they are devoid of understanding

Part of the argument with positions like that, and I appreciate you touch on it, is that the native Americans stole the land too, from each other. You can only have free borders if there's a universal method of funding it all and creating a political system that suits everyone.

We know what it's about mate. The worst of humanity is, for the moment, on a roll.

You're on the wrong side of history in the long run though.

I don't count twitter as 'people'. It's part of the system anyway, and cuts people off if they point at the Emperors Willy.

Which 'morons'. You have many times claimed to be a democrat on here and that the views of the majority should hold. That means the 'morons' get an equal vote. That is why I prefer a representative democracy.

I wasn't talking about voting I was talking about understanding. The morons voted but they were wrong and they lost.

He sounds like a complete tool.

I'd be interested in taking his views and sticking them up his ring piece.

I've been reading this thread for a while, and it strikes me as really funny that both sides have an opinion on things, but when they differ the name calling starts. Pointless in my view. Wouldn't it be better just to end the thread and move on? This has been going on for months and not one of you has changed their minds. I'm not taking sides here as both sides are as bad as the other.

Lets dispense with the whole "Americans stole the lands from the Indians" narrative.
That may be true in essence, but it was hundreds of years ago and they ain't giving it back.
Plus as Brits, criticising America for stealing other people's lands in the past is a little hypocritical, seeing as we were once the largest and most powerful conquering nation on the planet, conquering India, China and most of the known world.
Every former conquering nation has a murky past.

This whole Trump thing, people are, again, like with Brexit, confusing this as a Left/Right battle.
    Bollocks.
Many left wing people voted for Trump. The democrats screwed Bernie Sanders and a sizeable chunk of his fanbase refused to vote Hillary, and either abstained, or went with a Trump protest vote.
Trump is NOT a conservative, at least socially, fiscally he is, but show me a billionaire who isnt.
He is a bigot, he is mildly ******ed, he is misogynistic, but his stance on things like Abortion and Gun rights seem to change every 20 minutes, depending on the nations mood.

I still don't know how I would have voted, had I been a US citizen.
I could not in good conscience have voted for Hillary, seeing as she would have further destabilised the Middle East with increased military presence in Syria, and invasion of Iran (she categorically stated that, if she became President, the US would be declaring war on Iran). This would also have further antagonised the US relationship with Russia.

But then again, how can you voted for a sexist, bigoted, clueless clown, who hasn't got the slightest ****ing clue what he is doing.
He has never held any type of office, he claims to be a business genius, yet his companies have filed for bankruptcy 6 times. He is a reality TV star, with a millionaire father, who sells his name as a brand and earns millions for it, fairplay, who wouldn't take advantage of that, but it in no way qualifies him to be President.

I would have had to abstain, I think.
