Wijnaldum has gone too. Brazil play in Peru on the Thursday. Big ask to get full recuperation by Saturday, can see one starting on the bench.
Have Origi and Sturridge play similar to the Spurs game and have Firmino and Coutinho on the Bench in case they are needed. We need to trust the squad to deliver. Plus Origi and Studge have a brilliant record against Saints.
Is it in peru? Its a big call to get out of there thrusday night and arrive back friday sometime... big ask that.
LFC, PSG and Barca paid for their players to fly back in a private jet last time, think they'll do the same again.. If I was LFC, I'd fly them direct to Southampton and get them to the teams hotel a day early, they don't need any "prep" time, they just need rest!
I don't know.. I agree you'd probably actually try and get a team hotel and all be down there early etc. I think you won't knock the head off jet lag in that amount of time. They will have to figure it out anyway.... i think brazil could do their players a favour and play Friday Tuesday like european teams but there you go its just our critical players compared to others saying it.
Both are important part of our regime, and our game being played on Saturday is not helpful. Jet Lag is there
Brazil are playing on the Thursday before our Saturday game? Blimey. There's no way our two will be ready for that surely? I don't know what systems they use to mitigate jet-lag but that's way too short a time. Even if Firmino doesn't play for them his body won't know what day it is.
I thought light exposure played a big part in it as well, though? I suppose there are ways around that too, but I'm no expert on it.
I think we have to trust the squad but it's a risk as they've both been superb and not having them in the team sheet will boost Southampton.
The best they can make is bench . opportunities for Sturridge and Origi, their absence is going to slow down our momentum.
Yes light is also a factor for the body clock, you can get fake sunlight lamps quite easily though I don't know if they bother with that
Southampton have injury problems also; F. Forster Knock NRD A. McCarthy Hamstring NRD S.Long Hamstring RD 19th November M. Targett RD 19th November C. Soares RD 19th Nov J Pod ACL knee RD June 1 2007 Liverpool do not have fresh injuries, but we hope that our players come back from internationals without injury.
Gomez played 45 mins in friendly. First bit of action for over a year. He's on the way back which is good to see, Klopp said won't rush him back though.
Couthino and Firmino are unlikely to play against Southampton, our prayer is that they both come back without injury so that they can play against Sunderland. They can get back on Friday.
I am not sure if Lovern is going partner Matip in defence because of home fans. Last time he played they were hostile to him. please log in to view this image
