And in doing so they're displaying their geographical ignorance.

I'm sure Scotland won't mind gaining a large percentage of Northumberland...

<laugh> If you're doing it Trump-style, Dumfriesshire and Roxburghshire should be the minefield and the Scots are paying for it. Or the Romans. Isn't that the 'logic'? ;)

I love the Scots and value our history with them and the Welsh and Irish. So you and your trowel, SH, are on your own for any repointing of Hadrian's Wall. ;)

I've never been to Scotland so very much looking forward to a trip up there. The nearest I've been is to watch the Horns play Sunderland back in the 60's before motorways were built, I think the M1 only a had short section in those days.

After some unwise uncomplimentary remarks about President elect Trump's victory from some of the bumbling eurocrats, they sent a grovelling message to him to basically plead with him to sign a trade agreement between the US and the EU before trading with the nasty Brits.
It must have been their worst nightmare, not only Trump being elected but also the prospect of Nigel Farage being his 'special advisor' at best.

If this was a film script it would be dismissed as too far fetched. Interesting times.

I look forward to explaining to the poison dwarf the meaning of a British referendum. So far she has been unable to grasp the facts so I will speak very slowly to give her a chance to understand, poor girl.

Before taking on Nicola Sturgeon you would need a short language course before venturing north of the border - here are some of the things which you might hear:
'Yer bum's oot the windae' - This doesn't translate directly, but means you're not making sense.

    'Yer aff yer heid'
    'Haud yer wheesht`
'Awa an bile yer heid' - Said to someone deemed to be talking tripe.
'Whit's fur ye'll nae go past ye' - Something to do with karma this one.
Also 'Banpot' is not a term of endearment.

Just so that you know what to expect and can react accordingly :emoticon-0102-bigsm

    It's bampot actually...

    To add to the list:-
'Stap yer haverin' - stop talking ****e
'Fit's he like?' - what sort of idiot is he?
'Ya mingin bawbag' - you smelly scrotum
'Yer geein' me the boak' - you're making me sick
'Glaikit bastart' - stupid fatherless person

..just off the top of my head. :)

Don't know if anyone will be interested in this, given that it's an SNP MP's initiative & the link takes you to SNPs web site, but...

Mhairi Black is introducing a Private Members' Bill aimed at making the Government's sanctions regime fairer and she is looking for input from the public.
