same were I live the MP is excellent and everyone knows who he is and he is committed to the constituency, but I wouldn't vote for him as he represents the wrong party as far I am concerned

As Super Hans once said, "People like Coldplay and voted for the Nazis, you can't trust people."

All this is great news for liberal lefty luvvie 'comedians' and performance-art related activists, as they now have Trump as well Brexit to rail against in their embittered echo-chamber world.
Every cloud has a silver lining, as David Essex once said.

And therein lies the problem, I genuinely think we need an education piece around voting in the UK.

I've actually enjoyed it. Is there no consideration to having a single thread where all politics - domestic and foreign - could be discussed? If you dont like to discuss politics, dont go on it. If you post politics elsewhere, it'll be moved to that thread.

    Just an idea.

Anyone 'unhappy' about the US election result can go and protest tonight outside the US Embassy tonight.
    Yes, really!

It would be a mess, various subjects/arguments overlapping. Just leave these threads to big events.

Yes, but Hitler wouldn't have been able to get into power under our system. And a lot of countries with PR like Italy spend all their time trading off against each other instead of getting on with anything.

That's already been discussed and rejected on here, the current arrangement works well and we've no intention of changing it.

Be a terrible waste of time building that nice new wall if he did that. Has he started it yet?
