If he does as he says, and changes from the Obama/Clinton policy of bombing the **** out of the region and moves to a more strategic approach with the Russians to deal with terrorism, it'll reduce the threat

I think you're missing the point (as with the Brexit vote). I doubt all those that voted for Trump, cared about the sounbite policies or suddenly decided they are racist, it is a vote to stick two fingers up at the establishment. As I said earlier, people want a change from self serving governments. How that change is delivered will now be down to the relevant governments to decide, but a very powerful wake up call has been delivered.
I personally think this day has been coming for a while, Brexit and the presidential elections were the vehicle for this to happen, even if the "faces and policies" may leave many totally bewildered.

This kind of result has been coming for a while now, it's what happens when living standards stagnate for a generation, whilst the wealth of the top 1% and inequality soars.
Perhaps the silent, reasonable, mild mannered majority have finally spoken. It is after all democracy and demonstrates that people have grown tired of the political elite and want change.
On the other hand, it's all the fault of racist, bigoted, simpletons who are scared and read the mail.

 

So people, fed up being governed by asses, have voted for unicorns. What will they do when they get goats with ice cream cones on their heads?

 

I honestly am not sure which was the lesser evil if I am honest.
Trump will not do half the **** he said he would, there aint gonna be no wall and there aint gonna be no ban on Muslims.
That **** was just bravado, to pander to the mindless Republican base.
He is no politican, and therefore will have no clue what he is doing.

Clinton knows how to work the system and would have a far easier time of getting her insidious schemes carried out. (War with Iran for starters).

It literally was a choice between an angry clown (Trump) and an evil demon (Clinton).
And the US likes to say it's the greatest nation on Earth....my ****ing arse!

 

Same will happen in France and maybe Germany
