And you're like my **** for brains brother who believes everything they read in the paper, regardless of how naive it is. Who doesn't like losing a referendum and can't believe that 'they' can't see your (skewed) logic. I have a degree in economics, an MBA and decades of experience trading all over the world....although if I were to believe you, I'd wonder how the **** I ever got anything done.
What's the differenc between a hot air balloon and 365 blow jobs?? One's a good year, the other's a ****ing excellent year....
Without passporting large parts of the financial industry in London and Leeds will be forced to relocate to the EU. The total fishing industry employs less than 12,000 btw We'll do fine outside the EU because others on different continents are sound? Great logic For someone who professes to have an MBA in Economics, surely you realise that the full economic impact of Brexit won't be felt until we actually ****ing leave? The pre referendum economic predictions were based on Cameron invoking article 50 - the next day - as he said he would.
Yada yada. I have an MBA too, and a degree in political history. If you're that highly qualified you must surely think the Brexiters argument that the economy hasn't collapsed yet, therefore we're fantastic is utterly preposterous given that there's at least a six month lag in the supply chain in manufacturing, for starters. Have you not noticed that fuel has gone up in the last six months? By the way, my sister is qualified accountant with a degree also.
Large parts?? Not at all. You can't just pick an industry up and move it. You do realise that virtually every 'relocation' peddled by the remain backing press already had plans to move 'some' of their operations outside of London? Is been going on for a decade or more ffs, well before a referendum was ever called. All that aside, this countries reliance on this sector at the expense of other industries is not healthy anyway. Id rather a better mix of industries, given the precarious global position of many banks! All that said, your assumption that we will lose the passport suggests you've already conceded we'd lose it. Thankful you're not negotiating for us (if we ever get there) Finally, you do realise that we buy financial products from outside of the EU aren't you? Just asking but how the feck can they possibly do that with no passport!?!? <Doh> The fishing industry In 1970 employed 50,000 ish. Add consumption growth into that and you can at least double, probably treble that number had it not been ****ed over when we joined the EU. UK and Irish waters account for 60% of EU fish consumption and yet we have around 6% of the EU fleet. Go figure. Regarding doing fine, we will because we are a big economy. Your case is based on absolute worst case scenario. It won't happen. Ever. We will concede some on free movement, they on tariffs and so on....it's called negotiation Everyone seems to be totally ignoring that business gets done outside of the EU and that it's not in the EU's favour to slap us down....it really isn't.....but hey, if you want to knock what I say because of its sheer simplicity, then over to you but trust me, it's not that hard to do business in Europe. The US has no trade deal with Europe and seems to do just fine....or do you think otherwise?? I have an MBA (masters in business) AND an economics degree. I also have an engineering degree and a marketing degree but less relevant I guess. I do not have a masters in economics. It means nothing other than it gives me an ability to see through the BS (from both sides).....and the markets factor in the future, so yes, a large part of the economic impact has already been seen and will be felt next year... Not all. But not all of it is bad. People do realise that the currency situation actually helps us don't they?? Sure our costs increase but we've just got very competitive. I swear the people who are whinging have no idea how advantageous for a country that is. Many countries would love to devalue their currency like that..... Why don't we all just focus on the negative!! Europe on the other hand is a basket case, it's already failed. To make it work would mean creating a federal European state...full integration of states, economically and politically......with no accountability....and that's what they're planning to do....quickly. Guess who will call the shots? Forgive me if I'm wrong, but when did we ever vote on that!? I'm amazed that people are out in force (Londoners I assume) fighting tooth and nail for the most corrupt, self-centred, greedy industry out there. They've already ****ed us over on a number of things and we still fall for their spew. Unbelievable.... And just for the record, my mum's a European immigrant. I was subjected to racial jibes from an early age....and have the nose to prove it. I consider myself educated enough to see through the ridiculous claims from all sides and cut to the chase. We are all entitled to an opinion but most just repeat someone else's.....and that someone (from both sides) usually had an agenda. I respect the people who wanted to stay in Europe.....I was not 100% out more like 55/45 but the vitriolic shouting down and labelling out voters as rascist is plain wrong and what makes it worse is that those who argue the case usually are ****ing clueless
My job is under threat as I work for an American bank based in London. Brexit would mean I can spend more time here on here. You've been warned.
I think the biggest issue is the fact that we seem to have no plan on how to successfully implement a brexit. And it's not as if the government can tell the public of said plan because it's undermines our negotiations. So everyone is just in the limbo. Plus the world knows that we are looking for trade deals and will rinse us.
We don't have a strategy, but we do have a slogan - 'Brexit means Brexit'. No wonder she doesn't want any scrutiny from parliament.
Ditto my sister. A highly qualified one though. Ironically she was treated a few years ago for aggressive breast cancer at the Linda Mccartney centre, thankfully successfully, fingers crossed, by a Muslim oncologist. At Easter when I was over there, we discussed the forthcoming referendum;after her fifth (large) gin and tonic she slurred 'I don't want my granddaughter to grow up in a ****ing country ruled by Sharia Law!". As I say, she's an educated woman, not the six-fingered hicks we saw from Hartlepool, Barnsley and suchlike.
Stopped reading there. There's not 3x times the 50k people that were involved in fishing here in the '70's, working in the fishing industry in the entire EU. Our waters equate to 14% of the total, not 60% and have you ever heard the word sustainability? In short both bollocks and simplistic ****e rolled into one 3 degrees and a masters you say - awesome.
