Coincidentally, God's Tiddler recently started attending a monthly meeting of the Old Failures Club at Saxton House.

It's been in the news, no need for 'insiders'. The cuts to the civil service and local.government have been on going for several years and more a consequence of pre brexit global issues and central cuts.

 

I note that the EU - Canada trade agreement doesn't insist on freedom of movement. I would expect that the EU - UK trade agreement won't require freedom of movement either.

 

We just need to convince the Wa (h)loonies.

 

Much as you'd like to paint this as something that was expected and ongoing it really isn't. All those cuts are still going ahead.
That the DWP still haven't worked out how to make these additional savings when the software needs to be delivered in under 2 months is unprecedented.

At the moment it's looking like people living in a house where someone else is claiming benefit will be expected to contribute more towards household costs.
