Great day had here. Blood clinic 1 hour delays, oncology 2 hours, pharmacist half hour; chemist 1 hour and train back 1 hour. Up at 5 and got back home a little while ago. Nothing to eat or drink all day. Some days you just want to forget. Still Mrs L's birthday on Saturday - another one she did not expect to see.
Been cold and damp here most of the day, but my daughter finally has some heat in the house she is doing up. The next department to us has a yellow snow warning, and that is only a twenty minute walk away. Friend in the UK was due to have an operation on his back today using keyhole surgery. A doctor told him yesterday that if he had the same procedure thirty years ago he would be confined to bed in hospital for four weeks, rather than being discharged today. Mind you he has had to wait for nine months to get it done.
Morning all, no frost today, so feels a bit warmer. Youngest daughter flies out this week to Nepal for another two weeks of ear operations. Every year a team from the UK or Australia go there and hope to provide some help for about a hundred people. Most of the operations by our standards are fairly simple, which is just as well as they do not have a proper theatre. Although some of the expenses are met by a charity the team of six still have to pay for their own flights. To get to the town normally takes three flights, but this year it will be two with the final stage overland as the runway is unusable due to an earthquake. She is hoping that it will be motorized, and not yak cart or similar.
Arran looked very clear...when we were there.... If you get the chance on the mainland try Wildings at Maiden for a great meal...... highly rated http://wildingshotel.com/pdfs/Website Lunch Menu.pdf
Looks very good but for the third course is it two starters or two mains with one of the other option?
Contacted the club to see if anyone wanted my programme collection but they said they had "no room" so unless I hear from anyone in the next day or two they'll be off to recycled. A shame but I suppose it's more my history than anyone else's!
Usual time for me, I have a ritual of good nights to perform so it takes a bit of time and as you can see, I don't log out until the last hurrah!
