Hope people don't mind this thread as it's a little bit of promotion.

The thread title is the name of a play that I've written on a semi autobiographical basis about my youngest and me going on our first ever European away trip to watch Newcastle play Benfica in the Europa League a few years back. Well it has to be now, hasn't it. There's some fact, there's some fiction and a little bit of faction. It's meant to be funny or at least humorous.

The play is being "developed" and this is the first stage. The first half of the play will be "played" by way of script in hand on Thursday the 24/11/2016 at the Alphabetti Theatre in Newcastle along with the second half of another football based play which has been written by someone else which will also be script in hand.

It's free to get in and then it's hoped people will make a donation. All money raised is for the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation. The actors are doing it for free. The venue is free as they just keep whatever is taken at the bar. So all monies raised will go in their entirety to the SBR foundation.

I also have also been able to get a "vintage" style 1970's Newcastle strip signed by the one and only Malcolm "Supermac" Macdonald which is referred to in the play and which will be raffled on the night and again all the proceeds are going to the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

This essentially is an invite to anyone and everyone to see the plays.

If you have never seen Fringe Theatre before then it's worth the experience. It's for a good cause and there is a bar before, at half time and at full time to have a chat and a drink. Places are limited as the venue holds about 50-60 I believe subject to how the stage is set out. To book a place you need to go online to the url on the flyer below to reserve a place but as stated it is free and you don't pay anything to book a ticket it's just so that numbers are controlled.

Here are two links to the Alphabetti Theatre. One for details about the play and the other has a location map showing where the Theatre is.

    http://www.alphabettitheatre.co.uk/...rticles/87-plays-pints-and-the-beautiful-game

Troublehouse Theatre is a production company my youngest, who is an actor (not actress apparently) and a friend of her's. Here is yet another link

    http://www.troublehousetheatre.co.uk/

And finally a flyer for the night.

Would love to see peoples there.

P.S. Look at the initials of the authors and you might guess which one is my pseudonym.

    :)

Just one question before I commit to going - does this play involve a man called Nev who has a tragic accident while adjusting the sky dish on his roof during a thunerstorm?

It really depends upon your interpretation of "purple" and "dildo".

In which case the answer is probably yes.

Have you written in the part for a good-looking guy who works in Indonesia, with a terrific sense of humour but an obsession with financial statistics and a deep-seated loathing of an old git from Australia. In other words ................................... am I in it?
Its strange that no Mackems have followed suit and written a play about their adventures in Europe although I believe that Shakespeare wrote a historical play about when they won Ye Olde Footeball League.

I've just written a play called Nightmare on Pom Street.
It's about an insecure Mackem living in Australia called Fredor Kreuger who shoves each finger up a koala bear's arse with the evil intent of stroking his victims to death.
The first recipient of the evil Fredor's misguided horror attack is a good looking guy who works in Indonesia with a terrific sense of humour but with an obsession for financial statistics and a deep seated loathing for an old git from Australia.

    I reckon I'm on a winner.

What an amazing thing to be doing. Is this your first play?

Hope it all goes well and you raise lots of money.

Thanks and yes it is my first ever play.

Always figured that everyone has a "book" in them but didn't figure I would write anything until I retired. Then was bored one night and just started writing. After a lot of amendments I have ended up with this.

The whole play has actually been written but it's only the first half which will be "played" on the 24th.

The only flaw I can see in the plot line is the "a good looking guy who works in Indonesia with a terrific sense of humour". Not sure if that just stretches the boundaries of credibility too far.

You're absolutely correct and I now realise I should stick to my day job as boss of a ladyboy dating agency in the seedy area of Jakarta. That said it's not going too well as I've only got one customer.

Ps...good luck with the play <ok>

The amount of money I pay you you should be able to retire. I must stop hiring that one called Comm. I am starting to get attached.
