Good idea I reckon. The miserable scruff can bugger off out of it.

A quote from Roker Report. -

" and With Moyes sat in the stands it was left to Robbie Stockdale to take charge of the team on the sidelines and it may not be the worst idea in the world for Moyes to continue watching the first half of games away from the touchline - he himself acknowledged that you get to see a better picture of how your team are playing from a stint in the cheap seats, and Stockdale was constantly motivating the Sunderland players from the side of the pitch. It was a thoroughly decent combination."

Didn`t get to see the game for family reasons. Anyone care to comment on Stockdales touchline performance?

Glad you raised this Pops because I have found Bracewell to be a puzzle and just seems to sit in a daze during games. Stockdale could be the quiet strong man needed as the go-between, For all Sam got the praise in keeping us up last season, Stockdale was the defensive coach so must take some credit for the performances in that area.

I never rated Bracewell that highly as a player mate tbh. I know others did but I saw him as no more than a bit better than ok.

I was more interested in Stockdales antics. Whether he was the stand back arms folded type or the jumping up and down getting involved sort. Whatever he did it must have helped.

Another thing is Sam promoted him to the first team when he got here so he must have seen something in Stockdale that was worth working with. Quite what Bracewell does is yet to be found out.

Well if Stockdale is the defensive coach, he isn't doing a good job so far this season mate, we've been totally disjointed at the back.

I never liked Bracewell much as a player for us and don't think he offers many positives as a coach..

Thought he was alreet as a player. As a coach he just seems like a lacky or goffer.

I hear he applied for the job of first team coach driver and there was a mix up in HR.

Always thought he always looked for the safe negative option when he played for us..

Maybe he was conning people back then too... his surname does suggest he's adept at defending.

My take is that we have been caught out b individual failures rather than a badly briefed defence.

Whatever the reasons, it simply isn't working. Kone looks uninterested and sluggish and Djilibodji is all over the place, PVA constantly gets skinned and Jones??? well, he just isn't EPL class imo mate.

IMHO, the defence are suffering due to a lack of bite in midfield, the ball is just constantly coming back at them all the time.

Aye, Always a crab of a player, side-show Bracewell. Diminishes the chance he is a positive-playing influence as coach, but could be wrong. Our midfield play is ****ing gash at the mo tho

From what ive seen of Bracewell this season he has been a sour faced bastard who has no in-put whatsoever. I thought he was auditioning for Catweazel, surely with the brass he makes a week he could at least tidy himself up.

Possibly would have, if we had a replacement lined up.

Could really comment at what Bracewell brings but given Moyes preferred to relay his message to the players through Stockdale instead of his assistant speaks volumes to me. Think there could be changes in the pipeline.

He looks as miserable as Moyes and that takes some doing, but as a player I must say he was top class, by our standards at least.
