Jesus............Just watched Season 7, Episode 1 of Walking Dead. I'm exhausted and feel traumatised! Amazing hour of telly, but so, so horrific and brutal. I think it's the most affected I've felt after a TV episode!

It was pretty savage, one way of trimming the cast wage bill I suppose, I wonder if Neil was watching? :emoticon-0184-tmi:

I pretty much guessed, somehow, what they might do for massive impact to live up to the anticipation. Still took my breath away though!

Likewise, but it was pretty harrowing. I'd be interested to know what the next generation of TV viewers thought of it? Have they become numb to such things due to ultraviolent and increasingly realistic looking computer games as well as increasingly unsensored and extreme TV? I grew up with the A-team and the worst that happened to you was that you jumped out of the way of an explosion or two, no one ever died inspite of all those guns.

    Bah!

I don't know. All my friends who have seen it were left in shock as well, but they are around my age. I think there is a sense of becoming a bit "numb" to extremes. I know I have in recent years, with the range of shows I watch, and Horror films I have seen. That episode, however, was way beyond that. It wasn't just the shocking images, just the tension and anticipation for the whole hour was emotionally and mentally draining.

By the way mate, I was reading Tuesday's copy of the EDP in the Barbers yesterday evening, and saw a question from you in there about AN. Dunno if it has been mentioned on here, but I only just read it. :emoticon-0137-clapp

???? was it one during their occational Q&A sessions? I usually have a meeting on Mondays from 1-2 so it's the first time I've ever had the chance to post. I never see the print edition so didn't know that they ever replicate it from the webpage.

Back to the WD. It is the more realness of it in a way. Horrors often rely on animated monsters or invisible goulies, things that are very unlikely to exist as the threat. Like the Zombies in the WD they really don't have any impact. But the nasty evil that men do is a lot more relatable and powerful

    Bah!

Something about "Lost his mojo since Newcastle away last season"? Was reading through them and that one said "General Melchett" underneath it.

Agree with your WD bit. It's why Horror films based in reality with a human killer are so much better than a monster who gets shot, stabbed, run over by and car and keeps coming.

Well FML, I expected a comment after the first episode of Planet Earth II.
The filming of the penguins was simply outstanding and watching them getting bashed against the rocks after they'd been out fishing all day was unbelievable. Could you imagine humans putting up with that every other day??????

I was at Centre Parcs this weekend, so I haven't had a chance to see it yet. Looking forward to it though!

Also, think we are going to try Series 1 of "Happy Valley" I've heard a lot of good things about it.

I completed Mad Men the other day. I can see why people rave about it, but I wouldn't call it one of my all time favorites.

What do you think of it? We just agreed to a free upgrade to BT Infinity, and we get a free box too. Do you think it's good?

Yes, I find it much better than the 'Virgin' box I had previously.

Ah, still need to watch that! Everyone is blown away by it, by the sounds of it!

I've been watching Series 1 of Happy Valley, and loving it. Really dark, gripping and brutal.

Just watched a 'Street Cat Named Bob' and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I'll have to try to get the book from the library, though expect I'll be at the end of quite a long list!!!
