Definitely Aretha!! She has soul. As good as the Eurythmics are musically, they don't really appeal to me as their music lacks the energy and drive that your hear from groups like EWF, ZZ Top, Cameo (I'm showing my age now)

I thought we were supposed to be discussing the impact that ex-Southampton players have on their current teams, or have we hijacked the thread for our perserse thoughts?

Do you know how long it took them to get me to the Farmhouse? Not set in stone, but may be July in Palma. Usually go to Pollenca, but thought it might be a lovely easy journey from Southampton to Palma.

No way, I heard that VVD is going to Manure, in exchange for Smalling plus £50m. I think that may be a made up story.

Mourinho might offer Luke Shaw and one other as part of a deal, one of United's fringe strikers maybe such as Memphis. I seem to remember a certain Ted Bates who used to deal in transfers involving players plus cash, the most memorable being Martin Chivers in exchange for Frank Saul, which enabled the great man to strengthen other parts of the team.

It was a choker at the time but the signings Ted Bates ensured we more than just survived in those initial years.

Those were the days, 31,000 lock out at the Dell to see Saints against Manchester United. A 2-2 draw!!

For sure, along with Jimmy Gabriel, what a character he was, and Hughie Fisher!!! These were immense players for the club in the late 60s.

And Hughie Fisher was still on the bench for the '76 final, not to mention fathering Francis Benali if the rumours are true!

Gosh! I've never heard that one before. Are you sure? Does Francis know? We need to be careful otherwise it might come as a bit of a shock to him.
