no i have been highlighting form the outset that milner has been doing this. I have also highlighted that milner on the ball is just plain batter than moreno. like... moreno stuck his hands behind his back and let the ball in for west broms second so thats as bad as not figuring out your body shape if not worse.
I'm happy with Milner there, until we get a proper LB. He's doing ok in a position he's not really suited to (like Lucas as a CB). It's a credit to their professionalism, but we do need to get the specialists in there.
I think he'd be better at RB but i'd have thought he'd have sorted the side he shows by now. he's almost twisted himself in half at times. coutinho's work rate to suooprt him at times has been very pleasing to see though. Coutinho can't defend for toffee but he really tries to get back.
Not having a pop but had it been Moreno who made the mistake on Sunday and there would have been pages highlighting it.
Can was brilliant last year as the more defensive midfield which is why I prefer him there. As you say, I think he's a little slow to be playing higher up.
There would, but it would based on Moreno's track record. Everyone makes mistakes, but Moreno lacks discipline and made a lot of mistakes in what is meant to be his specialist role. After all, no-one took an instant dislike to him for no reason - it was only a build-up of errors that caused it. If Milner makes too many then the same will happen to him, but so far there haven't been too many, and they haven't been costly.
If he's too slow to play further up the pitch with slightly less defensive responsibilities he'd be exposed for the lack of pace at the back when covering the defence! Klopp doesn't suffer fools, he's not got favourites, he plays people he thinks will do the job that he wants. Right now, the #6 is Hendo's, he's made it clear that where he see's Hendo playing long term because he believes he has all the attributes to play that position, if he thought Can was better suited then, then that's where he'd play! Can has a bit more tricks and can pick a pass better than Hendo and with his late runs into the box is starting to find the back of the net, that's were I'd like to see Can play from now on, he ain't playing #6... ever! Well, unless we have a few injuries!
Probably Milners first big mistake at LB. Even then it's because he was too tight and pressing up against the winger to try and nick it. Amrabat was just too strong for him. If moreno was playing he'd have probably been up marking kaboul. Can't probably more solid than hendo but too indisciplined in running around. Plus he loves to take 5 touches before passing it sideways. better off having him making runs like with his header. I can't imagine Can playing all them sick forward balls Hendo does (see pass to firmino 2 weeks in a row)
first one he's been punihsed for. he's been done quite a few times on the wing but i've seen poor corsses etc spare his blushes. Can holds the ball a lot.. you have to keep it moving in our system. I'm surprised wijnaldum's not got back in honestly. Can is 6 foot though so he does help defensively.
That's why I think he's better suited to playing as the deepest mid. Gini and Lallana (and Dahoud hoprfully) can play the quick passing. Plus defensively, he's the best midfielder we have. Hendo is still working on his new role but he neglected Janmaat and decided to chase a player who was already surrounded by two LFC players.
May mean Gini gets a game ahead of him against Southampton, or are they a big team too? I don't think they are.. well apart from Fonte, VVD and maybe Austin? Mobility is what is needed against Southampton, they've got some very good technical players!
Surprised you didn't mention that earlier. yeah, hendo should have seen Janmaats run. Too busy ball watching/doubling up
