My wife's dad in the 30's worked as an officer for cruise ships on the Shaw Saville Line. He did visit Australia as tiny black/white photo's showed. Switched to a pilot officer in the RAF before WW2 but only survived a couple of years after the war commenced. I left the UK in 1966 from Southampton bound for South Africa on a Shaw Saville ship- The Northern Star.
Did they make up the attendance figure ? Thought it was less then 17,000. Bloody loads of empty seats
Cant help unfortunately to agree with you. The difference between the performances under SB is light night and day. We can thank the Allams for getting rid of the best manager we have ever had. And yes the prognosis is grim. Only consolation for me is I spend less wasted time reading about City etc.
People really do seem to struggle with the concept that the attendance announced is tickets sold, not bums on seats.
Marshall made some great saves but also made some shocking attempts to clear corners and crosses. It was his best performance by far but still he still has things to work on.
I'd agree with that. Having watched the highlights back he was guilty of quite a few handling errors, but to his credit he made some decent saves. But I'm still not 100% confident in him.
We had the wrong day of the jawdie game yesterday on the screens and now some bellend at the beeb who can't get a job title right either.
They're not struggling with it, they just don't believe that the figures are either tickets sold or bums on seats.
I thought we did well in the first half against a top half Premier League team. We stopped them from scoring a second and had some decent periods of possession towards the end and a couple of half opportunities. They started the second half well but we stopped them scoring again which gave us the opportunity to score two quick goals and win. We defended well as a team when they piled on the pressure, sometimes you earn your luck and we did yesterday. We have no left back/defensive left wing back, two brand new creative midfielders who are finding their feet in very difficult circumstances, and too many injuries. Mike Phelan is changing the way we play. With new fairly inexperienced players that is going to take time, especially in the Premier League. We shipped 4 goals against Arsenal, 5 against Liverpool and 6 against Bournemouth. A few more weeks later the only score line that looks odd is the 6 against Bournemouth. I left the KC yesterday with a smile on my face. Only downsides were the we are hull, tigers, tigers, tigers film and the advertising boards. Not606's victory replaced supporters songs with adverts for companies. Doesn't really feel like much of a victory to me.
If that's the case, and you know the number of people turning up has nothing to do with it, then why did you comment on how many people were there?
Somebody should tell Mike Phelan that the low attendances at the moment are not because it's christmas soon ! I know players and managers live in a bit of a bubble but surely he knows a lot of our fans are not happy with the owners
