Made a couple of saves that you would expect but also sliced a kick quite badly and punched away what looked like a standard catch, was a good punch tbf but still landed couple of yards outside box and gave them shooting chance. so overall was a fairly neutral performance in that sense but another game under his belt without a real crisis will help him and defence.
Karius had a good game, made one or two really smart saves. He was totally exposed for the goal. That's a confident 90 mins. under his belt, can only do him good
Think they said that when T Francis went for one million ( or some other player ) but you get the point. Yes it seems like a bubble but at the moment pay to view is generating the money to keep it inflated, cant see it going until the masses catch on to streaming games for free.
You were nicer than me, TBF i have only seen it live today and not seen on TV yet, not seen much on here about him either so maybe i am being a bit harsh and he did what was right at the time.
I thought punching was the right decision at the time because it was quite a high ball and he had 2 or 3 players on him, it would've probably resulted in a goal had he dropped it so he took the safe option which I think is always the right option as a goalie.
Coutinho has always been capable of something special, but this season he's added consistency to quality - so far. It's early days yet, but if he keeps this up he's bound to become a target for the big European vacuum cleaners who hoover up anyone who shows anything a bit above the ordinary. It's our job to succeed enough to make him want to stay and be part of our success - one that he is helping to build.
Karius is still a work in progress, but as someone who was alarmed at his early hesitancy I'm a bit happier now. He's looked better when he's had something to do.
Spot on. We've known since day one that he has potential but he's really added consistency to his game this season, much like Suarez was, he's often at the hub of everything positive going forward.. With that extra bit of star quality that can win a game too. If clubs do come calling then it will be back of a really good season for him and the club, I'm sure.
I still remember the days when every shot he took dragged along the floor and to the left of the goal. He actually couldn't strike a ball properly, crazy considering how potent his shooting from long distance is now. Whoever coached him to improve his shooting deserve real credit for the difference in the quality of his shots.
