Yeah, that's how we play. Don't really have any awesome finishers, so we will have massive amounts of possession without much scoring. But it shouldn't be a problem when you are up 1-0. Camp in their half the entire game, they won't be able to score. We were in fact doing that, it's just that our defense collapsed. Maybe because of fatigue, I don't know.
The underlying predicament is that we just don't score enough goals. Our GD is zero & our defence is miserly!
He played the full 90 against Sunderland. Play him, put the game to bed and take him off after 60-70 mins. Instead we've brought him on in desperation.
Our conversion rate is ****, it's also down to playing a very possession based game. This game in particular, we were playing awfully slowly and we let them back in.
But, we were comfortable for an hour, so it kinda made sense. But those two goals have just been hard to explain. **** day at the office I'm afraid.
I expected him to start too but we don't know why he's on the bench. I don't think he was meant to play the full 90 against Sunderland. Perhaps the medical/fitness people have advised he shouldn't start here.
What have you seen from Boufal that makes you think we would have put the game to bed with him playing? He obviously scored the wonder goal against Sunderland, but apart from that I think he has looked rusty and not up to speed just yet
I think this result falls solely on Puel. We were crap in the first half, and he changed nothing. I think our tactics were off. We gave hull far too much respect in the first half and our defence fell asleep. We could and should have killed them off. Davis is invisible this season. Edit: I don't want to get at Austin, but his finishing is no better than long.
Jesus. I have to go and do a 12 hour night shift in a bit. Still, could be worse. I could have gone to Hull.
What the hell happenned? I remember liking this just before ht and I fell asleep... woke up and we're losing?
