I'd remove Kane and Wimmer. Neither having good games and the former is so far from match fitness it's actually quite painful to watch. All in all, not a bad half. Dominated possession but they understandably look more dangerous in the final third and probably just deserve to be in front.
Shouldn't be behind, the Arsenal players were clearly interfering with play whilst offside. At the other end Monreal could've been off for his foul but nothing got given(fwiw I think commonsense should've kept him on the pitch but by the letter of the law he should've gone for it). Really promising first half hour followed by a terrible last 15. Need to get ourselves going again in the second half.
Our continued failure to find at least two decent backup strikers for Kane is letting us down, and it will continue to let us down until either Levy wakes up and spends the necessary funds, or we get lucky and find another Kane. It's frustrating, but if we can't score often enough from the opportunities we create, we aren't going to win matches, and we will end up being the most entertaining losers in the league.
It's gutting to go behind like that. For most of the first half we were solid and looked bright. In fairness to arsenal though, they came alive for the last 10-15 and had the better chances, IMO. Just such a shame to go 1-0 down just before half time. worst timing possible. As PNP said, expect to see WImmer off at half time. Hopefully GKN given some time. We need to take the game to them now, so lets get some pace on to cause a few problems. Kane has been poor, but i think that's down to the defensive nature of the formation that hasn't given us much up front other than the odd counter attack. hopefully a formation switch will make a difference. If it's not working at about 65 mins, get him off.
I don't get what he means when he says that sanchez doesn't interfere with play. He's so close to where the action is. How is that not interference?
He's saying that he doesn't go for the ball, so he's not offside. If Wimmer leaves it, it goes straight to him. It's just Webb saying the right thing for his colleague.
You lot started better with your system change seeming to confuse Arsenal, making it difficult for us in the final third, but for the last 15 mins we piled the pressure on and deserved the lead. Wilmer (lol auto correct) having an absolute mare. Yellow card for an unnecessary challenge and an own goal that would of made a striker proud. When Ozil puts a ball like that into the box apparently it doesn't matter who you are, you just can't help but to finish it off! I see some of you are annoyed at Arsenal players not getting cards but Wanyama has avoided a card despite constantly leading with his arm into challenges and Vertonghen escapes punishment for some very obvious shirt tugging and then starting the confrontation after Walcott went down. I think the ref is trying to keep his cards in his pocket. Bring on the second half!
But even not going for the ball, his body is so close to the action. If you're near the ball, you're potentially in the way.
