All i've seen today are negative posts saying our season is over, and that we won't even make the europa league. I'm going to explain here, on a Big 4 contender team by team basis, why we will finish at least 4th this season, probably higher.

Man Utd Ageing squad, haven't really addressed midfield weaknesses, plus all the Sneijder talk could unsettle younger players. Will have the support of the FA and referees as usual though.

Chelsea A complete mystery under Villas Boas. An inexperienced manager at this level will be exposed rapidly, and i can see chelsea changing managers in january. Plus, a team who consistently have injury woes, means that we may be able to beat them

Man City Will have team bonding issues. Mancini will likely rotate his squad, and a fallout is pretty much guaranteed. Like last season, will have more off days than on days. Not many big signing either, not as many as we all feared anyway.

Arsenal A side ready to hit maturity, and providing we sort out the Fab and Nasri situations, and bring in a leader, easily talented enough to win titles. And we start the season with a fit Van Persie (i think) which will get us some goals.

Spurs Not good enough to make the top 4. Likely to sell some big players, and really need a striker, but are being too ambitious in who they go after. Will have injury issues.

Liverpool Loads of players brought in, but nobody who has real quality. At the end of last season the rejuvantion under Dalglish had begun to falter, so i expect them to start that way.

These are my views, i'm not a certified expert, just an optimist.

  2. Well friend I would rather Top Three. Having to mess around in August just to get to our rightful place in the CL is taking on two matches which we don't need to. I would rather forego the money and save our tired legs ;)

I think we'll make top four but if Fabregas leaves and we dont add a quality centreback we wont be challenging for the title. :headbang:

You'll make top 4 I agree, top 3 no chance.

  5. If our issues are resolved there is every chance of our being a Top Three team once again. Remember that it was only an uncharacteristic lapse that saw them overtake us towards the close of the season. Arsenal should not contemplate a repeat of the last two months of their previous EPL campaign.

Arsenal's chances of finishing int he top 4 are hanging in the balance unless they can sign a couple more players

Even if you do sign a few players all that you will be doing is cementing 4th place. You have no chance of finishing in the top 3

Yes we're an ageing team full of youngsters <doh> and as for the pathetic bullshit about the FA and referees favouring us....... <wah>

Stupid posted written by a bitter idiot.

Continue to write as off though, I'm sure you won't end up looking stupid.

When it comes to predictions, who is? Everyone is sacking Wenger at the end of the year on the back of results that haven't happened. My view is that every game is winnable and should be treated so until the final whistle.

At least you had the good sense to get out of the slums up North. Have you got used to modern living yet, things like cars and electricity and the such?

I think what berb missed from the article is that it was mean't as a tongue-in-cheek/satirical/banter. He's obviously been fully inducted and is well versed in the United mantra.

@Rick Saunders - and anyone else of his thinking.

Arsenal have been in the top 4 and in the CL alot longer than any of these newly successful teams. Every year we are told we are incapable of comming top 4, our squad is so much weaker than the previous year, our squads don't compare to the other top teams, wem ust spend massively or we will fail etc, etc..... And every year we come top 4. You'd think by now people would be a little mroe careful with there rubbish predictions.

Top that off with the fact that until the CC final we were very much title contenders, we remained title contenders until the last few games of the season, we beat Barca in one of the two legs we played and RVP showed he is clearly top draw. It is only because of the end of season collapse that people think we were so poor last season. Overall we actualy played really well.

100% i believe we will still be top 4 come the end of the season. And i'd be happy to take any bets against that!
