The variety of reasons given to justify the poor level of support for the local team never fails to amaze.

The thought there is more to do in Hull than the cities which host American football is quite amusing.

Meaningless waffle about peer pressure and tribal unity doesn't deflect the points I made.

I wouldn't go and make any bets on that.

That accusation has always been bandied about. When the PL started they published a list of which clubs had the highest percentage of season ticket holders living outside the city's post code area, Have a guess which team it was. And which was second?

Yes, nothing else to do is what brings the crowds out. How little there must be to do in Barcelona, Munich, Milan etc compared to Hull.

It was said in jest Castro.
TBH I couldn't give a flying fig what our support is compared to others teams.
Bradford get great support due to their cheap prices.
We get **** support cause of our nutty owners.

Yes, but it is something bandied about by many people.

We have had long periods of poor support before the Allams.

BTW, the survey I mentioned about the team with the most passholders living outside the local postcode was Leeds Utd. Liverpool were second and Man Utd third.

I don't think Sunderland were in the PL then but they get a fair amount travelling from outlying places, which explains why, with a similar population in the city as Hull they get 40,000 crowds.

Man United currently top the Premier League list (only 29% of their pass-holders live in the North West), Liverpool second, Tottenham third.

The teams with the most local support are Swansea, Stoke and West Brom.

We're not on it, due to not being in the Premier League last season.

What do you think our figure would be? Find it hard to believe only 29% of their season ticket holders live in the North West, which is a fairly large area.

London ones are a bit different given the population shifts there. No doubt west Ham's will have altered considerably if using the postcode for where the London Stadium is.

We'd almost certainly be in the top three, most of our pass-holders are in Hull and the East Riding.

A lot of their fans come from abroad.
I went to a Barca match in March. Totally amazed at how many British were at the match.

You would think we would be getting massive crowds given our catchment area which includes Leeds, Sheffield, Knaresborough, Lincoln and Manchester according to the HDM which lists those places in their list of best places in and around .Hull to see a Christmas Market<laugh>

No idea mate. It was part of a 4 day package deal.
****ing expensive but to see Messi, Neymar do their magic was well worth it.
That was one of those once in a lifetime moments.

You still can't beat the build up to a City match in the pub though.
Pity the atmosphere fades once the match starts:emoticon-0101-sadsm

I'd have made the effort if I'd known the club were putting on a pre-match Christmas Market.
