This can probably be filed under 'What did you expect?', but on Talksport (Yes, I know, but there's not much else on at the moment) when they covered the Hull v Saints match in the obligatory 10 seconds required to show balance, Georgie Bingham said that Hull were looking poor, and would probably lose, to which Tony Cascarino replied that Saints had played a Thursday night game, so they would be ill-prepared/tired/not up for it, in other words anything which indicates that Saints can be dismissed as a footballing force. It's good to see the reasoned arguments backed up by diligent research
Nobody has made much fuss about our Thursday/Sunday games ... mainly because we have kicked that myth into the middle of next week.
I know, I know - its really childish, immature, pathetic... ... but.... your reference to closing in on Everton made me smile when I saw they got thumped 5-0 AND some of the press have criticised RK for changing the formation and trying to go man-to-man with Chelsea... ... all silly I would agree but am still smiling
Absolutely pathetic. Puerile is too weak a descriptor for this sort of thing. Popped in to see my daughter last night and her in-laws were there. Dad is an Everton fan. Just happened to mention 5-0 a few times, but obviously in a highly mature, adult not-rubbing-his-nose-in-it-at-all way. Funny, Everton were largely off my radar before the Lying Dutchman went there!
Absolutely. And there's a difference between today being difficult because of the myth which we are so far overturning and because Thursday was a beast of a game, both emotionally and physically which could affect us even 7 days out. I think momentum will be on our side but it will be tough for the lads today.
Well it's not only cold and windy but pouring down. Will they water the pitch? Er of course. Hope Saints have packed their flippers.
I'd like to see Tadic rested for this one. He'll no noubt be playing two full games for those selfish Serbians over the break. Boufal's time is here. EDIT: And Serbia are playing Wales! Will be a tough game.
Some clown knocked it down and built flats. No sense of history. And someone knocked down the scout hut to build an M&S food hall. My wife says good move!
No, it spells the end of literacy as we know it. Fairly soon there will no-one left who can spell 'Curmudgeonly pedant'. I don't know, the young of today (Disappears into the far distance, muttering to myself)
Added to that we will make maybe 4-5 changes with fresh legs in the form of Fonte, Bertrand, Davis, Clasie and Austin but you wouldn't expect a talkSport pundit to realise anything like that if it doesn't involve the top 6 teams
I still reckon it is one of the causes of ligament, hamstring and muscle injuries, plus some of the errors at the back.
