Best Fifa Men's Player 2016: Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez & N'Golo Kante shortlisted

N'Golo Kante, Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez helped Leicester City win the Premier League last season
Ten Premier League players have been nominated for the Best Fifa Men's Player 2016 award.

The 23-man shortlist includes Jamie Vardy, Riyad Mahrez and N'Golo Kante, who won the title with Leicester City.

Also named are Sergio Aguero, Kevin de Bruyne (Manchester City), Alexis Sanchez, Mesut Ozil (Arsenal), Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic (Manchester United) and Dimitri Payet (West Ham).

The winner will be announced on 9 January.
Fans will be given the chance to vote on the award after the world governing body's association with the Ballon d'Or ended earlier this year.
The Best Fifa Men's Player is one of eight prizes that will be handed out at the Best Fifa Football Awards.
The votes of the captains and head coaches of all of the world's national teams will make up 50% of the result, with the other half split between an online public ballot and votes from more than 200 media representatives around the world.
A three-man shortlist will be confirmed on 2 December.
Kante, who left Premier League winners Leicester for Chelsea in the summer, and Arsenal's Sanchez and Ozil did not feature on the separate Ballon d'Or shortlist announced in October.

Meanwhile, Tottenham and France goalkeeper Hugo Lloris did not make the Fifa shortlist having been nominated for the Ballon d'Or.

    Surely not....
Finishing third in a two horse title race !
Punished by The F.A for failing to control their own players !
Worst performing team to represent the EPL in UCL this season !
Given that we are only ten weeks into the season, I fear that the originator of this epic fail of a thread, Terrence Fvckwit, aka Hiag , will be owned and buttfvcked into submission with such regularity that copious quantities of e45 will be required to relieve the resulting soreness to his ever widening ring piece !

Just run the Arsenal Spurs game on a state of the art footie software application... it's coming out with 7-0 to the goons and with Jansen sent off for one too many acts of simulation in the penalty area ...

Personally I don't place much reliance on this type of software but just wanted my good mate @Spurlock to know that I'm there for him if it all happens...

Let's just hope Poch's 'philosophy' proves equal to the Goon's football on the day eh? ... gonna be mayhem on here if it doesn't... :)

I predict the slubberdegullion will self implode and go missing for a few days as will numpty Ned. Homey will be more philosophical about it because he'll be smacked of his face. Can't wait for this one!

    Weird isn't.

It's almost like Leicester have invented a new sport!

When you look at how they play and the team that are currently top play - miles apart.

  20. Leicester 1 v 2 West Brom

LCFC getting hammered by local rivals on their own turf!

    As I predicted.

Doubt we'll see much of Bambi or his equally mouthy compatriots, this week, but when we do they'll be spouting the usual "Kings of Europe" nonsense. The rest of us know that they're always just one game away from a humiliating spanking at the hands of Dortmund, or Bayern, or Real or Barca.

They have spiralled down to mid table obscurity and are fast headed for the bottom of the table, just as this prescient thread predicted.

Hopefully, the likes of Bambi, Johnny The Rabid Fox and ****wittedHazard will pay me the respect that my vision and foresight is due. There is no harm in admitting you were wrong, lads.
