It is roughly the same population as Hull. I heard that if our cruise terminal gets built their council is going to ask Hull's advice on how to go about it as it seems a good idea.
First season in the Prem a few of us(charlie big potatoes) flew from Leeds to Southampton, actually for Portsmouth away. 2-2 draw i recall? (Was actually £40 quid cheaper than train and 1 hour v 5hrs) We stayed in Southampton and was a really good night out. It helped telling everyone we had gone to Portsmouth away, but stayed in Southampton because Pompey was a **** hole. If I could have got away with killing that bloke with the ****ing bells I would have enjoyed strangling his last breath out of him
So who's fault is it Phelan is the coach with nearly all the back room staff departing or soon to be? With a squad lacking in numbers and quality due to the boy wonder's ****ing about.
Plenty of quality, plenty of numbers too. The problems been since he's had the numbers in fact too. You don't seriously expect the Allams to be spending money when their focus is on selling the club? Why throw more money at this? Actually, as you don't have enough cash to buy a football club, I don't need your opinions on how they should spend theirs. Backroom staff leaving when they get better offers, fully in the knowledge that when we get the new owners in, they'll be gone anyway. No one would want Phelan, hence why he was desperate for a contract this season at least.
Southampton docks were the scene of a near nautical revolt when back in 1755 the towns elders and Freemasons decreed that all sailors beards be shaved off to prevent rats coming ashore hidden within them. The Oriental Plague had taken the lives of a number of quayside workers and it was believed that rats from Chinese silk vessels were responsible for the outbreak, Any sailor who refused to be shaved was thrown into prison and barred from working for a whole year.
The traditional north wind whipping rain tomorrow might make the game a bit of a lottery. Hope our ticket comes in for a change.
We'll score 2 goals they'll get none or 1 possibly. Two magpies have just landed in my back garden so nailed on 3 points. UTT.
Well match day not sure what to expect today. Will Southampton be slightly off the pace having played on Thursday, as Man City appeared to have been yesterday, if so can be take advantage? I would be happy with a draw, but if we can find a win, it would certainly lift the mood.
Pissing down with rain in Filey and Freezing. Laid in bed all warm and snug. Anyone going to footy must be bloody nuts.
Fantastic day for a game of football. Love this time of year. Its when all the good looking people are born.
I think they'll start slowly, we'll look ok but fail to score despite a couple of chances Then when they're awake again in the second half they'll score two and beat us 0-2
