Cheers matey. Recorded that, recorded MotD and if theres owt on tomorrow about todays game I will be reording that as well
I'm enjoying watching it, we've put together some quite brilliant attacking moves which I've barely seen the likes of at Sunderland. If that's the sort of thing we'll be getting under Moyes then I could get used to that alright. Pickford and Anichebe both superb.
Anichebe looks like he could get a few goals, be a right handful for defenders and deffo be the linkman we need for JD. Picks will be Englands goalie and like you say you can see the way Moysy is trying to get them playing. We need to beat Hull otherwise this result today is meaningless. However lets enjoy this. We dont get many highs with SAFC.
Seems like having the two of them upfront will make a huge difference, not that I'm surprised we should have tried it ages ago. Anichebe looks absolutely bang up for it. I know if I was a defender I wouldn't want to be up against Defoe and Anichebe, Defoe on his own I wouldn't mind so much. I feel like I'm getting a clearer picture of what Moyes wants from them now and I like what I see.
This all sounds too good to be true lads!! Am sure this result was my dream the other night i.e. Shock result with 10 men etc. But more likely the fact that 2 different black cats walked across my path yesterday in Lanzarote, and I saw about 5 others. Anyway interested in the way some of you think & believe in the way DM is at last showing signs of having a plan. Have a good night & enjoy the International break for a change!! Bart
I have barely looked at the league table in weeks and haven't watched motd all season ffs! Now we win and i moved house last week into a new build and have no tv ariel or wifi till monday so can't watch it!!
Just watched Paul Merson, who to be fair is normally a complete bellend, state that nobody will have a better game than what Anichebe played today. Extremely high praise indeed.
Watching the game now and after a real dodgy start there is more of a cutting edge up front, as well as a big blunt edge alongside Defoe. Hopeful signs of changes to come maybe. But it's still a little early to get carried away. Can't make my mind up if this international break is a good thing or a bad thing either.
Would have preferred to play Hull next week and then the break. However this gives Moysy even more time to gel the team to play the way he wants. Regardless we must beat Hull and we will.
Without injuries I'd say it's unwelcome but with as many as we have it'll be good to give some of the lads a bit more time. I'm mainly buzzing about the strike partnership, I didn't rate Anichebe much but he looks a real player and willing to put himself on the line too. I think he played most of the match with a cracked rib.
The defence needs a lot of work still. With marginally better finishing it could have been 6-2, we let them have chance after chance.
The pressure is stacked on them from midfield in front, a lack of confidence forces both so deep. Hopefully a lift in confidence will help us play further up the pitch as a unit.
Having Anichebe up there making a nuisance of himself won't hurt with that either. I never liked having little Defoe up there on his own, doesn't work for me.
