They're clearly letting City win and avoiding stretching too much, they've topped the group. It's basically a warm up game for Suarez.

He only bothered coming to England so he could pop into Melwood and say hi to the lads (fact). Apparently he needed to discuss something with Coutinho...hopefully not the 200mil move to Barca in the summer!

What I don't get is the second picture, Manchester 2 - 1 Barcelona.

Foreign pundits and commentators call us that and it makes me cringe. But for the beeb to do it is inexcusable.

You have to hand it to Chelsea. They were looking down and out a few weeks ago and are now top of the league, leading Everton 3-0. It goes to show how quickly things can change IF you sort your **** out. This is what Jose and United need to be doing.

Now 5-0 up. So much for "I need time myth". Watching other teams around us is depressing.

Yeh that doesn't dispell the very proven notion that managers do need time. Conte's done well, but this wasn't a bad Chelsea side he inherited tbf and that was seen in the second half of last season. I take your point though, Jose should be doing better.

But Treble, I don't know how we can possibly claim that Conte didn't inherit a bad side given how they performed last year. Yet we can somehow excuse our side as some sort of inferior team hence why we are struggling. And with all the additions that we brought in too?

I do believe the argument that new managers need time, but in a world where they spend as much as they today, it puts pressure on them to hit the ground running and leaves little to no excuse for insistent performances.

I'm sure Mourinho knows this and at this point, we definitely have to give him time to turn it around.

Because that Chelsea had just won the league. They fell out with Mourinho and their star players downed tools. After he left, they improved and went back to how they were for the second half of the season. Look at Hazard today, compare that to last season, then compare that to the season before.

I don't think spending has anything to do with it to be honest. The price doesn't guarantee immediate success. Pogba is a quality player, as is Mkhytarian. Neither has suddenly turned to ****. Same with Jose. They're all far too good not to turn it around. But even if they don't you can't jusge them after 3 months. People were quick to write off Vidic and Evra after their first 6 months when tbf both were shocking.

People do forget that aswell as finishing 10th last season, this Chelsea side were also champions the season before. Last season was ****ed up by a series of factors , one of which was a few key players downing tools, but some of it was also down to Jose and his mismanagement of certain scenarios

    Really impressive wasn't it?

Amazing how un **** Pedro was. I don't rate Costa at all but he was a genuine beast and Hazard was incredible.
Victor Moses looked exactly the type of winger we could do with; fast, direct and powerful.

Jose could do worse than watching that and copying it. And it wasn't some fancy 'philosophy' like some are claiming. It was just good old fashioned fast, skillful football.

The game isn't hard, yes you can have tactics to target a perceived weakness in the opposition. Other than that it's telling your wide players to track back and protect/help the fullbacks and telling the CMs to shield the CBs when the other team has possession. When you have possession, then you have to trust the players intelligence and give them the freedom to play because you simply can't plan an attack.
Philosophy ****e is just that, the players have to play to the onfield situation second by second.

Moses is getting a lot of plaudits at the moment, why he has wasted his time and not put this kind of effort in before is strange I suppose it's down to the right manager for him.

Late bloomer, perhaps. Or just rich vein of form that is above his regular level.
