How good is this lad? Snatched the man of the match off Big Vic for me. He's our own product, he loves us and he's a very very good goalkeeper who will continue to improve. How can you not love him?

I've thought the same but the flip side is that he's faster and more agile than a bigger keeper. I don't see any serious issues with him being strong coming for crosses, he looks robust.

    Nobody's perfect eh Vince haha.

Don't forget we want him to be at that level where he's slightly too good for us but not quite good enough for him to be offered the kind of stupid money that would basically force him to turn his back on us.

    Yeh I agree
We need to keep our players not quite that good or everyone will want to take them

It sounds ridiculous doesn't it? But it's the reality, some I'd be happy to make a big profit selling on but ones like Pickford I'm desperate to keep for the duration of his career.

Looks like he can't grow a beard yet. Could be a late developer and have another growth spurt in him.

Rookie keeper having an impressive first season and improving with every game. What he lacks in inches he makes up for with agility so what's not to like?

Moving on to bigger things are all part of football nowadays and any big money we make goes back into the team.

You sometimes can with keepers though as the ones with their heads screwed on don't jump ship to a big team where they're not first choice. You go to somewhere with an established keeper and it isn't just a case of being great in training you generally need to current incumbent to mess up.

I can think of more cases of keepers staying put than most other positions to be honest (with Given the main example i can think of, he was too good for us for many years).
