It's a point I've made before - - fans are complete hypocrites when it comes to loyalty.

If a player starts playing poorly, we shout abuse and want him gone. If we get a chance to sell a loyal, valued player in order to get a better one, we do it without thinking twice.

For some reason, though, we think that if the team starts playing poorly, the player should stick by it. If he gets a chance to join a better team, he should turn it down.

It's like expecting your lass to be eternallyu faithful to yopu while you're out scouting other birds and would throw her out the minuite one with better t*ts gave you a look in. Complete bollocks

 

Harper's a professional. He knows the crack, and he knows it isn't about loyalty or sentiment.

And, to be honest, he's getting on a bit now, and he's even admitted that his knees aren't so great. There's probably a small element of relief that he doesn't have to step up for 30+ games over the next season. He'll still get game time, and he'll still get paid his hefty weekly wage. Life ain't so bad. In fact, it's probably great.

I agree with that though and im happy this decision has been made. Feel bad for Harps but football is football and older players have to be replaced at some point.
