Sorry, but you're wrong. We do not have a written constitution. "Unlike most modern states, Britain does not have a codified constitution but an unwritten one formed of Acts of Parliament, court judgments and conventions. Professor Robert Blackburn explains this system, including Magna Carta's place within it, and asks whether the UK should now have a written constitution. Britain's unwritten constitution - The British Library https://www.bl.uk/magna-carta/articles/britains-unwritten-constitution" We do have a constitution but not a "one document" constitution but a collection of Statutes, Court decisions etc.which set out our fundamental principles according to which we are governed.
Hang on a moment, every one of those Acts, judgements, precedents are actually written down. It's just not written down in one place.
this just proves to me that in this country if you have money you can do what the hell you want ! Oh and you ,you little working/middle class **** how dare you try and change things ,your vote means nothing, get back to work and keep your place
Think I will give it a miss as well. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-37856476 Anybody who bothers to read the article take a look at the picture of the security personnel half way down - obviously the Indonesian police have slightly different riot tactics to ours. Makes kettling a lot more interesting.
I don't know if you read the judgement or know anything about constitutional law. If you did, I think you'd realise that the judges would have had to stretch the law quite a bit to come to any other decision. It isn't just a question of whim, you know. There are some rules about who can do what. One of these rules is that the king and his ministers can't change the law without Parliament's approval. Been that way for 400 years or so
We did fight a Civil War over this issue.... and executed a king just to make sure the point was driven home (then, unfortunately, ..asked the buggers back in and, consequently, Queen Tess of May was tempted to have another go)
If it wasn't for Maggie Thatcher I wouldn't have had the opportunity for the decent education I had nor would my parents have been able to own their own home or would have I.
