Valley cut this romantic rubbish out ffs It is costing us.......we have been trying your rubbish from the start and we are terrible........It is about time we ditched these old hands and play the fitter much younger players who are the future of the club.....playing the old hands has failed and will continue to fail when they come up against younger much fitter opposition and thats a fact of life......It is about time we played players that can match the opposition for pace and fitness and not the has been that have the skill but lack stamina and pace of the younger players.......If we have any chance of survival at all then the younger fit players must play.....we have tried the Leon's and the Rangels and it has not worked. It is time to get our act together and play the younger players with more go in them than the old faithful who have done their bit but are being beaten now by the oppositions better players.....continue using old hats and we might as well resign ourselves to relegation.....

So tell Dai, who do we play instead of Leon? Who in our midfield are better than Leon?

We have got to play Leon, he's still our best midfielder, even at 34, maybe Cork alongside him. As for Dai, he simply hasn't a clue about the game, and I'll put money on the fact he never played it either, because he simply doesn't understand the dynamics of the game or that of the players, the guys a tool.......<ok>

Leon is the only DM who ever affords any support defensively to our back 4. when he plays they look better and we as a side look better. He has to play.

If the only players we have to rely on is the past it players then what hope is there....that is my point. Leon may have the skill but Much younger opposition players nullify that with their pace and muscle him off the ball very easily.....we have seen it time and time again and that's why we have been poor.....that half a yard is all it takes to get the ball off him in most cases....

No one isn't saying we aren't in trouble and we are due to a piss poor transfer window. But the best we have sitting in front of the back 4 is leon, he is still the only player who affords them any sort of protection.

If Britton can keep up the pace he should play most games ...IF NOT ...and if we can't bring in a reasonable facimile to replace him in January, then I think Britton should work with Cork to drill Leon's role into his head as our full time , defensive midfielder .
My personal preference is to get someone in January and move Cork forward to the center circle. Coming into this season , Mawson , VDH and Amat had very little expierence in the Premier and unless Fernandez can get his game turned around ...Britton or someone alike is a must IMO

A lot of people said we would never make it with our League 1 and Championship players our first season up ...but we did .
We've still got the players ( be it old on some ) who know their way around team play to haul us out of this mess ... Britton being probably the best example .
We played better our first season up than we are know with more valueable players ( monetary wise ) with those lower league pla.
When Monk was sacked it was the Brittons , Rangels and Routledges that bailed us out IMO.
As old players lose their speed , they counter that with smarts thev've learned over the years

Can't see how on earth Routledge would start in that position ahead of Barrow who creates a lot more.

Looks Guidolinesque to me PGF, an old sweeper system with wing backs.
I remember us getting laughed off the pitch when we tried something similar at the beginning of the season.

It does have the potential of making us a lot tougher in defence and harder to play against as the wing backs could drop into a defensive back five covered by Cork and Britton.

If we did play this system then, right now to stop the rot, I'd go all out defence and make us a hard team to beat. Boring I know, but it could be what we need at this point in time, we need to do something don't we? then why not start with trying to stop teams from scoring against us?

    --------------------Fab--------------
    ------Amat– vder Hoorn -- Mawson
    Naughton - Cork - Britton - Kingsley
    -----------------Siggy
    ------------------------– Baston
    -----------------Loriente

Subs: Nordvelt, Rangel, Fernandez, Barrow, Monty, Ki, Fulton

    for tomorrow though:
    ------------------Fab
    Naughton, Mawson/Amat, VDH, Kingsley
    Routs, Cork, Britton, Barrow.
    -----------------Siggy
    ----------------Loriente
(Siggy and Routs must get closer to him and Barrow must play off him. Support, support, support)
Subs: Nordvelt, Rangel, Amat/Mawson, Ki, Fulton, Monty, Baston

No Fer because he's not an impact player especially off the bench imo.
No Taylor because Naughton can cover left back if needed and Rangel Right back so Taylor not needed imo.
