I'm just watching it now, and I've not got to that bit yet, but Lisa Nandy spoke sense on the current situation.

The decision and any vote isn't so much the issue as even as a remainer, she and most others will support article 50 now anyway, but she feels that May should at least present the broad aims of her policy on key issues to parliament. Seems reasonable to me.

    hahaha, a classic owning there.

Sadly the sort of bollocks that you hear spouted by clueless sheep who've swallowed the spin and yet have no idea of the detail, just that they're supposed to angry about it.

The fail is all yours mate, as I don't need your validation on anything I'm afraid, despite your misplaced sense of self worth.

Well done for dodging a simple question all afternoon though, you must be proud <ok>

    Fail 3.

No question dodged, just you being childish and ignoring the earlier post that answered your diversion. You've just demonstrated you're not capable of grown up conversation.

Just seen it, she wasn't flustered. She had a non point really, as the sort of people she was talking about will still be in the same position. She expressed her position badly, but I don't think she needed to apologise.

A better point would have been to get clarification and conformation that their position will be protected, which ties in with the lady from labour saying May should at least state the broader aims of her position and priorities. Saying people like that will be protected doesn't weaken negotiations as they should be a given.

Yes, I found your reply a little bizarre. I didn't mean Bluey to be derogatory. By all means call me what you want but I think you're a bit wittier than Kustard-style nicknames.

I don't want to call you anything mate. It's just that Stan made Bluey up that's all. I haven't got a problem with you personally.

I have just been watching The Agenda from 25/10/16. They'd done some polling.
How would you vote if there was another referendum on EU membership?
    Leave 47%
    Remain 46%
What's more important, controlling migration or staying in the single market?
    Controlling migration 56%
Staying in the single market 44%

Fair enough. I just thought it was an abbreviation of Blueman that more than one person used. For what it's worth I don't have a problem with you either.

I would love to see how some of the old Chelsea posters would add to this thread. As much as I found Ossie simple and dislikeable, he was entertaining.

Polls are easy to manipulate. You could ask 100 people on an 8am commuter train to London and 100 people in the Hull working men's club those questions and get virtually unanimous results from each.

I'd also hazard a guess most people don't know anything about the ramifications of leaving the single market whereas "controlling migration" is so vague and, on the face of it, sensible that more people would have some idea of what that meant whether part of a lunatic xenophobic minority or not.

You mean over the last couple of days? It was necessary to rein May in and I hope it will lead to the sort of sensible Brexit I've hoped for rather than one focused on capping immigration at all costs. Despite all the bluster from the usual suspects on here about the referendum indicating what people want, parliament as a whole is in a much more educated position to interpret the result and come up with something which long term placates those with genuine concerns over immigration while not ****ing the economy over, so it has to be a good thing.

I voted to remain but I respect the vote to leave. Like you, I hope we have a sensible Brexit.

Interesting analysis of yesterday's decision from legal experts
    http://judicialpowerproject.org.uk/high-court-miller-judgment-expert-reactions/

The one that interested me and I mentioned yesterday was Carl Gardner who highlights that there have been plenty of changes to the 1972 act enacted by royal perogative that affected the rights of people and he believes that A50 should be treated no differently.
