The Leicester City "spiral" watch!

I thought it was to celebrate the continuing upward spiraling rise of Leicester City FC in the football world? ... it has certainly coincided with it, for sure ... for instance, since the thread's inception:-

• Jamie Vardy sets the all time Premier League consecutive goal scoring record
• Leicester City win the EPL title
• Jamie Vardy wins the football writers player of the year award
• Riyad Mahrez wins the PFA player of the year award
• Claudio Ranieri wins the Enzo Bearzot Italian coach of the year award
• Claudio Ranieri wins the GQ magazine 2016 outstanding acheivement award
• Leicester City set a new record for English teams in the Champions League by winning their first 3 games in the competition
• Leicester City set a new Champions League record by being the first team ever to not concede a goal in the first 4 games in the tournament
• Leicester City set an all time club record of 21 games unbeaten at home in the top flight

... my bad then for misinterpreting what the thread was about

Hang on though? ... if the thread was actually meant to be a prediction of doom and gloom ... the taxonomy of glowing successes above must surely make this particular thread the singularly biggest failure thread to have ever been posted on Not606 ..

... but I might be jumping the gun ... perhaps you could list out the acheivements that Spurs have had over the same period? - obviously if they eclipse the list I've provided I will concede that our spiral has indeed been downwards .... now take your time ... there must be loads

Ok Buddy, tell us, since the creation of this thread, apart from finishing 3rd in a two horse race and being an embarrassingly abject failure in this years UCL, at what point do you think you have witnessed any significant success for your club and since your calamitous bottle job of last season, would you agree that, with your current league position being 5th along with your debacle of a foray in Europe thus far, you are very much on a downward spiral and any thoughts of success for your team this season are just about as ridiculous as this epic fail of a thread

 

Those are childish comments!

Spurs struggled for many seasons to match anything like the league positions attained by Arsenal and Chelsea. They had the lead on us, for many reasons, but only an idiot would argue that both those sides were far better resourced than us. The success of Spurs has been gradual, over the last 7 or 8 seasons, at least, during which time a lot of factors have had to come into play, not least being getting the right manager and coaching staff, and the development of our youth training and coaching facilities. These things have been a success, and that has translated into our consistency at the top end of the table. Do you really expect us to consistently out-perform the likes of 'Pool, United, Arsenal, Chelsea and City, all of whom are better resourced than us. We should, if consistent success follows the money, be finishing no higher than 6th every season, but we have consistently finished 4th or 5th (and 3rd last season).

Is that a lack of success? Only to bone-heads like you, who know nothing about football. But to any reasonable person, that is a success story.

Game. Set. Owned.

 

To add to that he also missed the second vs Everton at the end of the season which would have tied him with Kane and I think would have seen Vardy win by playing less minutes (due to suspension)
