Whistling in the dark, I'm afraid. And pretty stupid. The High court has just plainly told May and her Gvt, 'No you don't have perogative power'.

    What ace is that?
The EU is listening, what they won't do is negotiate a position. Our biggest ace is to release aspects of our position before triggering A50, getting comments from European governments and explaining how reasonable we are being before the bureaucrats go over it with a fine toothed comb.

We effectively have free space to advertise and gain understanding while the EU waits and watches on.

    There is no 'ace' ffs.

No single market without free movement - it's been cast in stone by the EU from the off.

The idea that we're going to come up with something mysterious that is going to alter that basic premise is, and always has been, la la.

You should be delighted. The UK courts have ruled on a issue of UK sovereignty, the democratic process that you and your fellow leavers have been babbling about since, June has been upheld.

The right of UK citizens to not have their legal rights overturned without the full democratic process being seen through in Westminster, has been upheld by the courts.

Isn't that what you so passionately wanted? The UK making decisions in the UK about UK matters? As opposed to some unelected dictator making decisions that affect the rights of every UK citizen?

    We got our country back

Its a metaphor in this case.

They have said until A50 is issued nothing can and will be done.

There will be explicit understanding between the parties beforehand, I'm sure.

May will have gained tacit agreement before she pulls the trigger. The problem, as we've seen, is getting the entire EU to agree on anything!...

Therein lies the issue with the Noddy thought that we can somehow negotiate an agreement that undermined the basic pillars of the EU

Germany and France could have considered a softer agreement, as it would suit their car makers for example. However, those with far less of a vested interest in the UK export market within the other 25 could just scupper it, and insist that single market access must come with free movement. The final agreement will need unanimous approval.

Things are already being done. Barnier has formed his negotiation team in preparation for A50 and they will be trying to anticipate what the UK government position on detangling from each EU body will be.

Incan't say I mind too much either way Worzel.

It just amuses me to watch the desperation from the likes of you and the bizarre conclusions you reach about people.

It's revealing to say the least. :emoticon-0136-giggl

    Don't mind either way?

Hang on you've been advocating the importance of upholding our democratic rights on here for months, today is a victory for that principle.

The fact that the UK democratic process has been upheld and you're shrugging your shoulders like Vicky Pollard screams fuming <laugh>

You wishing I was screaming makes it no more accurate than most of your nonsense.

Brexit is chugging onward. The chattering classes are giving good worked examples of why people are tired of them and their pompous manipulations.

If the decision is that the rules say it goes through the house, so be it. I accept in the same way I'd accept it if it didn't need to do that. I'm ambivalent to an appeal too.

    No drama, no hysterics.

It has zero to do with chattering classes, as you so pompously dismiss it.

It was an important point of law. If the High court had ruled in May's favour, that would give her, and indeed any future PM, the perogative to override UK law, providing they had the majority in the commons to do it..

I've no doubt Brexit will eventually go ahead, in some form or other. However, this will certainly delay it and will also mean that May has to be very mindful of the strong pro-EU proprortion of her own party, and what they will accept, when forming the negotiating stance.
