He had trouble getting back in but is due back this week. Joke! Someone at the club needs sacking!

Edit: think Lee Ryder said Pardew said Tiote would not play for Ivory Coast this week but should be back for Saturday.

As your club should know through recent events, visa laws are a bastard the world over, and have to be spot one. One mis type or owt.

Unusual for someone to be refused entry into the uk though, hardly re-knowned for tough visa restrictions.

The UK visas aren't strict? I see them as excessively strict, in some areas at least. From what I've read the problem isn't on our side though. I reckon they've realised that Tioté's birth certificate is fake for the following two reasons; 1) Tioté isn't human, 2) he was never born, he's just always existed and always will. But any problems in Ivory Coast itself will be kind of hard to sort out given the whole civil war thing, unless that's subsided by now.

You don't need a visa to leave the country, it's only looked at when re-entering at immigration

As someone else has said visas for a country are checked on entry into said country, not exit from it. For some reason his work permit/visa may have only allowed him entry to the country once, or that some discrepancy has shown up which was overlooked when he got his original visa. It's a shame that you have to be a citizen of a single country in the EU to become an EU citizen, he's lived in the EU for 6+ years now in various countries and in a professional capacity, in my opinion this should be enough to be classed as an EU citizen and would avoid all this visa bullshit.

He would have gotten a separate visa for visiting the US in a work capacity, this is completely unrelated to his UK visa/work permit.

He's got a questionable past in his homeland there mate. Drugs mule they're saying. Now HMRC won't permit him to enter the country again.
