I'm getting used too it to be honest mate, as bad as that sounds. Ben Foster is one of the worst culprits for it if WBA are trying to maintain a lead or hang on to a draw, so many times I've seen him take an age for goal kicks. Schmeichel was wasting time against us too, constantly taking slow walks and then kicking his boots against the goal posts. I remember when we played NUFC years back when they had Given, he was the same. I just laugh if you do manage to score and go ahead against them, suddenly they're like Usain Bolt trying to move the ball out.
I have to say, that double block by Vertonghen in the area after one of Dier's numerous cock ups was one of the finest and bravest pieces of defending I've ever seen. Only him and Wanyama can emerge from that train wreck with their heads held high.
I have definitely seen worse although they actually started with their very first throw in. It's up to the ref and maybe one day they will cut it out but in the meantime we/you have to get used to 80 minute games.
On another note (trying to be positive) we were in pot 3 so our position in the table represents that. We are in a group with two teams who are supposedly better and one worse. It annoys me when everyone praises ''most attackingest team ever'' for their performances in the CL, when they were in pot 1 so have have 3 weaker teams in their group so should be winning. Also they're saying what an achievement to get out of their group at their first (and probably only) time- conveniently forgetting that so did we.
I thought Walker was terrible last night, apart from that 1 run. However, I do believe that his poor performance was simply due to trying too hard most of the time and actually giving a ****, as you say. The effort was still there, but he over complicated things and panicked on several occasions. - Perhaps if some of the other players (other than Vertonghen and Alli) had actually looked like footballers, he may not have found himself playing like this.
No mate, celebrating cruising to the Ko stages of the UCL, whilst you lot are left biting your nails in hope..... The irony of all this is quite a few divs on your board were predicting we'd be an embarrassment to the EPL after losing our games and going out ,when in reality we have won three, drew one and without conceding a goal epic fail by the bitter yids
We got the easiest group we could've possibly hoped for. Neither of Bayer or Monaco will reach the quarter finals in a million years and if they do, they will probably be soundly beaten by the vastly superior opposition we somehow avoided. If we'd played that way against Barca, Bayern or Real we probably would've set new records for most goals conceded in a CL game. There are no excuses, simple as.
He made a cock up defensively but he also made a number of a top tackles in my opinion and the run showed great desire, he done another one or two of those bombs forward as well which is typical of his game. The fact Sissoko was basically redundant meant he was doing his and Moussa's job for most of the 90 so I think you can forgive him if he made the odd mistake or two. On the whole though I couldn't really ask for much more from him, think he's been blinding this season along with Wanyama.
You lot literally scale this board waiting for the moment someone mentions Leicester, don't you? I mean I get the Leicester board is a morgue - to be fair with fans that love those cardboard clappers it's not surprising you have a dull bunch - but this obsession with the Spurs board is getting a little OTT. Haven't you got a CL record of clean sheets to be celebrating with your three other fans?
Completely agree that their time wasting was shocking. But we wouldn't have scored no matter how long we played
I think there lays/ laid part of our problem. The fact it wasn't a glamorous group meant that our lot probably went into it too confident and complacent as if we were back in the EL. Recent form has been iffy anyway so it's not as if our CL performances have been much different from our league ones of late but I think when you consider our last venture in the CL, facing the reigning champs, a solid Bremen and Twente who'd just won the Eredivisie, it brought out the best in us as we knew we were up against huge opposition. If we drew Barca/ Bayern/ Madrid in our group this time around we probably would've played much, much better against teams like that, albeit still defeated but it would've been performances we could've been proud of.
What did Leicester fans do before they won the league? I'm genuinely interested. Because it seems to me that they've only come out the woodwork on here since they've been top. So i can only take the conclusion that they are either glory hunters or they're just traveling the other boards to gloat. Both of which are pretty ****ty.
Remind me to come onto your board for a good Wum when you get trashed in the CL. Which is bound to happen. I don't usually go onto other team's boards to Wum away, but I'll make an exception for you.
There's no point mate, there's barely any fans on their board. All of the ones on Not606 are camped here on the Spurs forum.
