He brings the WWE style trash to the Prem. But he is a good manipulator but there comes a time where he has to get results and play good football and lay off the trash talk. We will have to wait and see whether he still has it.
Chelsea are legit contenders now. Funny we could actually see four teams putting on a genuine run at the title
I think so too. People wrote us off after the back to back losses but Conte seems to have sorted things with the new formation. Hazard and Costa are back on form, Moses has been a revelation. The Liverpool loss could have gone either way, if not for a Henderson wonder strike it would have been a draw. The only game in which we were truly terrible all season, ironically, was against you guys at the Emirates. Didn't even turn up. Whoever wins this title will certainly have earned it though, looks like it could be a 5 way war!
Conte is a class act. As much as I can't stand Chelsea on a personal level, he's making Chelsea somewhat likeable, just like Anchelotti did during his brief stint.
I agree, there really aren't any standout teams and haven't been for a few seasons now. But what we do have is around 5 very good teams that can realistically win the title. I do think that Arsenal and City have a slight edge at the moment but that can change quickly in our unpredictable league. It'll come down to small margins.
I've said from the start i think chelsea are contenders. The main reason being conte. You just have to look what he did in his first season at Juventus and for italy. To be fair, i wobbed a bit after getting spanked by you boys but this 3 at the back has been a revelaton. He's got us very well drilled and hes actually got the team playing for each other. I don't think we have the best personnel but he is the sort of manager to make us greater than the sum of our parts.
Seriously, you're complaining about your players? Your squad is as good as any of the top flight teams. Chelsea SHOULD be title contenders with the type of players that they have.
I'm not complaining about our players, but to comparing our first 11 and rest of the squad with the likes of yourself, city, i would say you guys are far stronger. That's a compliment to how well wenger has finally built your squad and who he has bought. City have always had a really strong team, especially going forward and again have spent a truck load this transfer window. I actually think United have a very good personnel but mourinho doesn't seem to be gelling them.
Spurs appear to be trying to get KO'd out of the CL as soon as they can. Probably sensible so they can focus on solidifying top 4 and qualifying for the CL.
Spurs lose back-to-back home games in the Champions League, struggling for goals (scoring 5 in their last 7), haven't won in the last 6 matches, been exactly a month since their last victory... In complete contrast to us, who are unbeaten in 13 (I think it is), scoring goals for fun, top players on form and with our strongest squad for as long as I can remember... Logic would suggest that this would be a routine Arsenal victory...right? Pfft, yeah . As if. You just know they're going to perform like their lives depend on it on Sunday. We'd better be up for it too, though. They've annoyingly caused us problems on their last two visits to The Emirates. Don't want a share of the spoils for the third season in a row at home.
They usually up their game against us, but I'm not sure they are going to have the 'gumption' for this one. Unless they get a match fit and in form Kane back for Sunday, then the rest of the team look jaded to me. Erikson, Dier, Walker, Lamela all look off form. Janssen and Son can't hit a barn door. They are missing Sissoko and they look flat overall. We'll see what Sunday brings, but if we are on our game, we should win this one.
Based on form and rational judgement, I absolutely think we should win this too. The problem is - it's a derby and football isn't based on rational judgement because you never know how a team will respond in adversity. Logic would have suggested that we'd hammer Middlesbrough (in woeful form) last week and we ended up getting lucky to snatch a point! I'm just praying the trip to Bulgaria hasn't taken too much out of our players because I don't think Wenger wanted the likes of Ozil and Sanchez to play the full 90 minutes, yet because we were 2-0 down, we had no choice but to keep them on. I seriously hope you're right, though.
Yep, we'll see fella. Like you say, form usually goes straight out of the window for the NLD. Let's hope it doesn't for this one
No matter how poo Spurs have been in the CL they will be a different proposition against us. It's hard to ignore their defensive record this season so breaking them down will be tough and they will try and hit us on a cheeky counter. We go in as favourites but derbies have a way of making a mockery of that. But we we are playing some lovely stuff and on the up, as Brunel says, I hope the trip to Ludocrats hasn't messed with our consistency.
Hang on! Arsenal won didnt they? I know they werent playing a big club but an away win in European competition is never easy, regardless of the opposition.
